Default Mounting battery on front upper y link?

Ok so no not doing comp crawling but would like to lower the cg im running a 4000mah 2s shorty pack and am considering mounting the battery on the front upper y link any reason this would be a bad idea or would this be an easy way of lowering my cg while moving some weight forward?

It's best to just buy a battery plate for the front axle, then the servo is moved to one side and you put the battery on the other side. But off course the upper links is better than the original battery plate.

4000!!!!! That's some run time!!
If it doesn't got anything during articulation, it's good..

I don't think a 4000 will fit on any, front axle battery tray.. you can always check out the, DesTroy plate, sold by Krazed Builds..

1300 4s. Too big to put on the front axle but it fits nicely in that previously wasted space.

Something just makes my skin crawl seeing a highly reactive battery hanging out in the open like that..

it's still behind the steering link and it's a crawler not a basher - so i don't have any concerns that it's exposed like this. No issues so far. I also have smaller lipo's than the mounted one . Depending on the battery weight i can change the weight ratio from f/r 60/40 to 55/45 or use the internal battery plate but that raises the cog up high, which i don't like.

Think ill go this route and pick up a slightly smaller 2s as its still running the original ae-1 with a castle bec for the servo thanks
