Smaller and lighter? It sure looks like it fits well. Good work! I have a 3D Printer but I need to find out about this ShapeWays place. That looks great!

Hi,

My first prototype of Margouillat with front and rear AR44 axles. The axles are lengthened and I use the parts of Wraight (axes).

The history starts with hulls of AR44 axles.

And there, it is the drama!! A double decapitation…

The printed parts come to be encased on the tubes of AR44 axle.

The rear axle follows the same principle.

Assembly on the Margouillat.

I like the kinematics of the steering, the bar of direction is aligned perfectly.

Rear axle

AR44 axle turning in the opposite direction that those of classical AX10, the transmission was reversed, so that the driveshaft left on the good side.

It remains to regulate some adjustments of design, but overall it is almost ready to be run. Remain a BIG issue, in the state, there is no more OD and UD on the level of the axles and it is a modification of which I cannot do. To see how to deal with this problem.

Thanks.

All ways interesting to follow your project.
Just wondering...wouldn't it be easyer for you just to print the hole axle shell in 3D ?

Yes, it's more easy. But the fact that the gearings is not aligned complicate the modelling of the axle), because for it that I began with AR60 axle, simpler to model. Thus here is the current project, a AR60 rear axle (compatible with everything the Axial part).
