Anyone else noticed this before ... The XR10 uni's on my OG Sudu and the FL have different length threaded stub shafts.

XR10 uni's on the FL, very long threaded part ...

XR10 uni's on the OG Sudu, short threaded part ...

I'm with ya Ronald. I noticed it back when I got new ones and after cutting them down on my wraith uni's, I just figured they use the same ends for both and the wraith uses longer ones for wider wheels and different wheel offsets and scale hubs that go on them?

Things did not go like I hoped, I made very slow progress the past few days. I got a lot of things keeping me busy and I have to divide my time between all ...

Last night I got some time in on the FL and installed the NCD tranny in the chassis, just a matter of swapping the skidplate. Offcourse the whole thing fits like a glove and looks very well in there It is mounted in the back with the long shaft towards the front. Sadly no pics ... my daughter (4) and I decided to use my A0 background paper to do some freestyle painting on, earlier in the day I will share some pics later

I planned on using MIP shafts as I have short+long driveshafts for a typical 60/40 setup with AX10 tranny in the spare parts. But that won't work, the front will fit, but seems to botttom out under full compression and the rear is too long and can't be used at all. The short front MIP will work in the rear though.

I need new driveshafts and decided to try my luck with the SDI driveshafts ... following ZZR 1100 Racer on this one

I lost a lot of time last night correcting one of the through holes in the RC4WD long driveshaft. You will have to drill them out to 2.5mm to fit the scrub-pin. Unfortunately one hole was offcenter and also misaligned, not straight through but with an angle. I got some AX10 stock shafts installed now for mock up, so I can proceed with electronics placement. I shortend the front 12 mm and the rear 10 mm.

Assembly of the NCD tranny for the SuDu is very straight forward. Just two things to be aware of:

1) one of the hex spacers is .5mm longer and should be used at the top of the housing plate in the countersunk hole

2) shimming of the outputshaft. As the ring and gear are pressfit on the outputshaft there are differences in dimensions between sets. So you will have to find the best way for your set

Aha....and here I thought I was search challenged......
I hope you can include the Rc4wd gears in your package, I'd prefer a one stop shop.
Thanks Rino...I'll be patient

I have got a lot of feedback on the NCD transmssion from Rino and one other test driver based in Canada.

I will soon post more information on the transmission and make it available for you.

I hope to have the FL up and running by the end of this week. When the SDI driveshafts arrive I will finally have all the parts to finish the car . Look forward to the first tests after hearing about Rino's experiences with the NCD tranny ...

I see some nice evolution in the tranny, I like the adapted spacers and flat top of the motorplate

Thanks Tomy....I suspect your tranny would only fit on NCD's skid and would have to be a total package. In fact that might be a good marketing ploy,
Chassis, links, tranny, link mounts and servo/electronics tray....all for one low price.....

I wonder if any of your testers have tried it on another skid besides NCD ???

Well ... it has been a while since I updated my thread. Mainly because I kind off lost the motivation/reasoning to build/have a second 2.2s rig. So last week I decided to abort the build of the (almost done) new rig.

Not a great update I know ... But now I can focus on my first love again, so I am not sad I allready sold the complete axles and offcourse I am keeping the FL chassis and NCD gearbox to swap over in a couple of weeks. First I will go out crawling again for a loooooong time
