Those are looking great Ronald. I also need a pair of these.
Do I spot the new body....?
To bad you have to remove a bit of the rear to lower the body even more

Nope ... I have not mounted the body yet ...

I am still undecided on how to place electronics, after I got that one figured out I will mount the body ... I can get good progress when my driveshafts get here, I am hoping to lower the E-tray somewhat.

But I got pics of the uncut body just sitting on the rig though ....

Well …. EverettY’s question kept buzzing in my head …. And made me very curious how the body would sit on the rig. Eventually I couldn’t resist anymore and started work on trimming and mounting the body this afternoon … Specs, pics, chitchat below …
.
.
.

Warning extremely pic heavy !!
.
.
.

The body

Parma Xciter
RockThrasher paint
Gunnar bodymount set
HPI washer M3x6x0.5 mm

I hit up RockTrasher here on the board to paint me up a sweet body for this build … and he really came trough with this one … It is based on a lid he did before, which I really liked ... So it is the same concept, but a little different, I love the pink flames, chrome skulls and carbon look … This is by far the sweetest body I ever owned … Thanks Jason !!

I always hated those little pins that are normally used to mount a body, I saw the Gunnar bodymounts in severall builds in the past but never could find them for sale. Untill recently Gunnar started to offer them for sale again, I immediately jumped at them and got a #3 comp kit with 3/16” aluminium spacers.

I ordered 3 extra spacers to replace all stock delrin chassis spacers. As to Gunnar’s advice I ordered the spacers 1mm shorter (=49mm) and use some 0.5mm washers between the spacers and CF chassisplates. Here some pics of the bodymounts on the rig …

And finally pics of the body mounted on the car, I did not shorten the mounts yet as bodyheight may have to be altered due to electronics placement ….

Weights:

I always wondered what a painted body weighs, now I finally know … now I am curious how that compares to a cab and full set of bodypanels … ?

Very nice body and weight Ronald. Looks to good to scratch

At that weight you still need to add electrics and a battery and knuckle weights if required when a runner too dont you?

I still have to swap out my delerin cross braces to alloy myself.

Rig is looking great

Thanks Everett, I am sorry to say .... I lost it ... I cut the body a little bit at a time, tried to save the NCD logo but couldn't make it work

Thanks Oz, yes still need to add electronics (+60gr), servo (+65gr), lipo (+46gr), driveshafts (+30gr) and KW (+100gr) ... So I guestimate she will end up at a RTR weight of in around 1711gram ...

I understand what you are saying, all bodys I ever made/had for my onroads, offroads or crawlers always had a very simple and clean paintjob (kinda like my SA) which is more or less my trademark ... Never so extravagant as this one .... BUT .... I like it .... perhaps I am changing

Thanks guys, apreciate it All electronics are allready taken care off, I will use all spares that I have. The servo will probably be a "loaner" though ... I could use one more good servo ...

[edit] No progress on placement if that is what you meant ...

Thanks, as I am in europe I got the brass inserts (F4/1-B-M3) from Insertsdirect.com on ebay ...

But most common place in US to get them would probably be Mcmaster-Carr ...
