| Re: Haastnooit's AXR10 2.2s NCD SuDuOne First parts came in this afternoon
So my freetime tonight is spend working on the SuDu ... My first goal for this build, to be as cost effective as possible, got me in to using all plastic XR10 lockouts, C-hubs and knuckles. So in order to be able to run some added weight on the front axle, I had to come up with a KW system to work with stock XR10 knuckles. KW system From when I started crawling I have been running less and less added weight to the front axle, as I was working out a sytem I got curious and checked out what I used to run and have on my rigs right now weight shown is for one side: 1. AX10 FB2 DH2s with 4 slugs 116 gram 2. XR10 BJ4 start VP base - 95 gram, end VP base mod 65 gram 3. XR10 SA3.5 NCD KW system now 48 gram In my spare parts I had found some VP 1/8 half add-on rings, if I were to use those my KW would be slightly less then I am currently running on the XR10. As this rig will be lighter and all electronics will be on the front axle I decided to use them , being cost effective and all . I sat down behind the computer, fired up my CAD program and drew up a KW holder to fit stock XR10 knuckles and use VP halfrings. Offcourse I send the file to Tomy to cut me a pair. They are one-offs and wont be available for sale [edit 9/20/13] Knuckleweights for Axial XR10 knuckles now available by RcBros To secure the weights to the holder I drilled new holes and tapped M3 in two halfrings, decided to cut those down to minimal size for esthetic reasons only I will start out with the fully loaded KW system. Weight options with this sytem And a pic mounted to the knuckles, I will get pics with wheels on later This will have to do for now Last edited by Haastnooit; 09-20-2013 at 02:37 PM. |

| Re: Haastnooit's AXR10 2.2s NCD SuDuOne Tonight I was able to get some better pictures of the KW system with the wheels mounted on the car. Real happy the first design is spot on !! The fit is just perfect, no single adjustment needed to be made. On to the pics Also a small update on the shocks tonight, I removed the green springs on the rear shocks and replaced them with some silver MRC springs looks better & feels familiair |

I used 7mm delrin spacers, when my driveshafts ever get here I will look in to the possibilities of using taller spacers and lower the E-tray some more ... |

Well .... good news for those of you running stock XR10 knuckles and are looking for a nice KW system. I worked something out with RcBros and as off today he has the templates for the KW system as pictured above Don't know in what timeframe they will be available, that one is up to RcBro ... perhaps he can chime in on that ... |

Thanks Oz So after a very long wait, the Axial WB8 driveshafts finally showed up today ... They are stock for now, no added reinforcements ... I will run a 35T Tekin pro motor on 3S, is it wise to reinforce the shafts ? This one is requested by Everetty ... |

Thanks exactly what I needed Could you see if you can mount a servo facing the shocks instead of facing the front? |

The re-enforcement is needed on the WB8's so the male end doesn't flex and break. I bet you could epoxy a piece of CF tube in there and only ad a couple grams...

Hey Ronald id recomend sticking something in the male half. I did for my sudu snd my wraith. I used 3 different inserts. 1. A piece of plastic from a parts tree. 2. A piece of alloy from an old axial alloy link. 3. A long hpi body post. All relitivly light weight and easy to obtain. You could also use cf rod or tube. The torque combined with 2.2 dosent mix well with out an insert in the male half esspecially in a bind. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2 |
