Ok, finally let's get this video ball rolling:

Course 1: (-28/-40)

Course 2: (-39/-40)

Course 3: (-27/-30)

Finals Course: (-30/-30)

Results of the comp.

I'm really happy how the rig performed in Spain. Feels easy to drive. Only thing I noticed that on ground with so much traction, I would definately want some more weight on the front. Much more. Current setup is ideal in Finland, cause we don't have any traction compared what you guys are running in the states or those rocks in Spain. I'll have to work out a setup B for the Nationals, which are possibly in Jamestown, RI. That rock looked quite similiar to the ones in Spanish Nationals. Double the weights on front axle. Now I have a long season in front of me in Finland and I'm ready to be challenging in Nordics and Finnish Crawling Series. At least things have started well!

UPDATES!

I got some parts from Sweden to test:

Dravpnir's Magic Wands!

They are fitting to my anorectic chassis setup quite nicely.

The old chassis spacers.

Magic Wands!

Assembled.

Gunnar body mounts fits perfectly on these!

Tobias told me to give them some Zarizi throttle finger. That's the least I can do. We are approaching summer here in southern Finland and I will be able to test these on sunday. Will send a proof video later on!

Got decent 25 packs of hard training and proper chassis beating last weekend. The Magic Wands are holding up great! I didn't manage to "drive them down". In words, I think it's a great product and I would definately love to see it on mass production! Very good quality Dravpnir! I would definately buy a set for my SuDu Pro as well.

Rig held down it's own, and stayed in one piece. Then I realized a few things I needed to fix:

Cutting down the Xcitier hood, so that servo and battery can move freely and the suspension is working. Thank god I didn't need to cut the main part of the hood, cause it's a masterpiece!

I also had to cut the rear end of it. It was touching the uppers while trying to push it down.

Then I saw that my passenger front tire is turning too much at times. So I made a stopper to the knuckle. It's a washer and a rubber spacer, so it can let a little loose if neccasery. I got this idea from Hittman. Thanks to him.

Bad pic, but now it's stopping the movement, before it will turn too much and jam the driveline.

There you can see the steering and the cutted body.

We'll have our first outdoor comp next weekend, and this thing is well up for it. Top shafty drivers are included on this. I'll add pics and video afterwards. Hopefully it'll all go well.

I had an awesome comp day with my team mates last saturday in Inkoo! Everything went smooth again:

Few points difference to second.

Pics from course one, which was a repeat bonus course. I managed to get the bonus eight times!

And these are from the second course, which had three -10 bonuses.

Cutting the body seemed to help a lot.

Almost got stuck after second bonus gate.

And these pics are from course three, which had multiple bonuses.

So close for making it, but then I hit the gate. Two of the guys made it with full throttle.

Video from the fist course, which I'm really proud of!

Next comp will be just after two weeks. Can't wait!

Thanks a lot guys!

Updates again. Testing and tuning this time!

Got some rear axle weights from Norway. Thanks hph!

Modifing the rear axle tubes, so the weights will fit.

Mounted. They weight 50g each.

My idea is to get the chassis and shocks work better with all the weight in down.

My old front weight setup. 50g per tire.

New one! 100g per tire!

No more mr. lightweight....

200g more weight on the axles.

Well I had a go with the new setup. What a dissapointment it was. No change to the acting of the rig what so ever... Only thing what I noticed was the foams being way too soft for these weights - of course.

I didn't want to give in on my testings. I put my old weights back. 50g per tire on the front and nothing on the rear axle. Then I swithced the green springs for silver ones. And now it's really going as I want it to. Soft suspension which feels alive and goes well with the changes of terrain. I'm going with this setup to the next comp on saturday.

It also stays lower than in the previous setup, which is a great relief to the sidehilling. And it's no longer lifting the front tires so much, but if it does I can just swing the front tires and it'll come right down, cause the suspension is soft enough. Let's see how it works out in the comp.

Trying to find some cliffhanger spots.

Quite nice spot.

Same spot from the side.

Rig is working extremely well now. I can't wait for saturday to comp with it again!

Hopefully everything holds up and the good moode continues!

As usually pics and video will follow next week!

I'm back from the second comp of our local cup!

We had a record in participants of the Shafty class. Nine rigs and ten drivers!

Well, don't get too excited!

Pics from the course one.

Here is course two, which went great! Two bonuses and only two reverses.

Gates nine and ten from course two.

It was a great spot.

Going for bonus #1 on course four.

Flat out gate on course four as well.

Bonus #3.

The gate that I did not manage to climb and my score went down to positive 26. I took several reverses and tried to ride the right gate over but, wasn't able to do that. And with the new bypass rule I had over 30 points from that gate when I finally lifted it to the next. Then I hit the next gate and it was over for me. First DNF for me this year...

Repeat bonus course #5.

It surely was fun thing to drive!

Gate #9.

The smug face. Six times bonus and score negative 38.

Here are the results. And they speak for themselves.

Course two was the best one for me. Here it is!

I have been doing some testing and tuning after the comp as well. I changed the driver's rear spring to green insted of silver. Now it's not lifting the front passenger tire so much. I also did switch the place of rear shocks in the chassis. Getting better all the time. Little things, which may have big meaning to handling of the rig.

Next comp will be first of the Finnish RC Crawling Series. It's located on the same spot as the last comp in Nokia. Can't wait to get started!

I am really impressed. Not only are you winning by 59 points, but also more than 6 minutes faster than 2nd place.
Speedcrawling seem to be the shit:-)

How about putting a 55T Integy in your truck? :-)

I've been in so many comps around the world now, that I have a certain routine for the driving. Maybe it all comes from there compared to the other drivers here. Except my brother of course.

I've had Integy 55T back in -07 I think. Just sent a request for 30T Stubby to this. Conflux is getting too slow...

Thanks Roger.

Updates!

Some random pics from the rig before we start Finnish RC Crawling Series 2014 tomorrow. I've been training.

New suspension/link setup on the rear axle to remove tq.

BWD motor saver!

And the new motor!

My old Conflux and the brand new Stubby, which has got to be my favourite from Team Brood's motors.

Comp weight.

It's ready for the Finnish Series opener tomorrow. I have been training a lot, so I'm expecting high level of performances. It will all be clear tomorrow.

Yesterday I had a great comp day with all the best drivers from Finland.

Terrain looks damp?

On course two. New stubby making it fly!

On course three. Repeat bonus course --> Gate one, bonusbonus!

After the morning the weather started to improve. No more slippery rocks.

At the end of course three.

Dropped the passenger front to a hole. Two reverses and a gate because of that. Allthought, that really was the only real mistake in the comp for me.

Few reverses on the way to gate ten.

Happy at the end of the comp. Awesome result after many hours of training!

And huge thanks to the sponsors of course!

Here is my performance from course two. Just two reverses!

And finally the results.

One week and then the Finnish Series continues. Nothing to do with the rig, I think it's going just fine.

Thanks! I'm just a regular chap who is willing to sacrifice time for hard training.

I had really fun weekend in the north with my team! Excellent weather, good beer, fantastic mojito!

And was able to take the first position. All day I had just 18 mistakes in terms of the points. So I'm extremely pleased with that. Really fun courses to drive and all went as planned.

With a small point difference to the second. Beware Yoshiaki, I'm coming to the Nationals!

Here's what made the difference mainly. I was the only one to go negative in this course three.

Tomorrow we will have the third local comp. That will be the last one before The RC4WD Nordics 2014. Hoping to score good again! I'll add more pics later on.
