Had this rig out today.... For a shake down the only adjustments I had to make from initial set-up. Is outboard the upper links & move the rear upper links @ the rear link mount from the bottom to the top and out two holes... much better "thumbsup"

I ran this rig hard today and busted one of the rear wheels:lmao:
Can't go wrong with a sucker Punch"thumbsup"
I'll post up a video 2maro:mrgreen:

Man that was fast:ror

Definitely looks like you need o go to shorter front lowers and slightly longer rears. The chassis is rocked forward quite a bit more than I planned for. Ideally the shock mounts should be level to each other.

But otherwise, for basically just swapping everything over, it's pretty darn close. Good luck at the comp

Nice!
Love the thread man. Reminds of one of those cooking shows where the show the ingredients, mix em, toss em in the oven and and 3 secs later pull out a perfectly roasted turkey.

I can relate with the work thing, it definitely sucks trying to build a truck, a month before nats and get it tuned while working 12-16hr shifts.

Vlimey that's bright!

i'm glad the truck didn't take much tuning to get her feeling just right. Be sure to get plenty of video at nats.

I like your little "bumper" for the servo....

What color and brand of the spray paint you used for the body?

Steering stops is my guess

I know I have to make something similar to that stop. I'm hoping I can use something shorter with a hollow ball at the bottom.

Hey Jim... That long ass bolt is a steer bump stop to prevent steering from locking up.
With the wheel on no way it can catch on a rock."thumbsup"

Bingo!

With all of the steering these rigs have now...the servo literally gets pushed past its EPA's when bound & you lose its use until you can pop outta said bind.

Rig looks good Matt! Im stoked ya got her running & feel confident enough in her outta the gate to debut her at Nats.

See ya in a few brutha from anutha...

Re: Tapped-out's 5th Dimension Sucker Punch

So I thew the rig on the scale yesterday W/battery no wheels or KWs.
It came in @ 2.5lbs (just like in post 7 pic 4 W/battery). In no way did I try to build a light weight rig. (all steel hardware)

Where is a good spot for front bais? Right now W/O KW & wheels it's about 3/16" past (twards the front axle) where the front lower links bolt to the chassis.

How are you liking the soft springs? Mine seemed a little too soft on the bench, but without any drive time I can't tell.

That sounds like its in the sweet spot right there. When you put the wheels/tires back on, the balance point will move back slightly, then add the knuckle weight back on to move it forward again.

I have one comp on this rig so far the springs felt fine.
I swapped these shocks/axle from my old 2.2s rig and was happy with them..
I'll be keeping an eye on your build to see how you set-up
Your shocks.

Cool. When I get it on the rocks I'll post up weights, balance, oils and so on.
