Found some time to work with the electronics today. I already had the ESC and RX ready to go, so all that was left was add the BEC, a few connectors and tidy some things up.

I am happy to say the rig is under it's own power now. Just a little tweaking here and there yet and it'll be all ready.

Thanks David. It's gonna look killer when the body comes back from you. Here's a few I forgot to upload.

Came out very nice
All your angles of links and drive shafts came out very nice
Now get it out on the rocks to see what it can do

Should have the final pcs for mine this week to finish my build.
Will post a thread this week sometime.
The fit and finish of this chassis is just sweet

Thanks! The chassis definitely makes it easy to get some nice link angles. I'll be keeping my eye out for your build.

Stock SCX shocks
HPI bladders
Losi shock rebuild kit
Axial aluminum Icon bodies
Associated Green Slime
Mini T spring cups and delrin preload collars

Where did you get these delrin preload collars?

I picked them up in the Classifieds awhile back. Not sure who made them.

Christ the battery man made some similar one (longer) to help preloading the spring. Check his website,

Not too long ago, I mentioned to Brian that I wanted a set of delrin spring retainers for the rcbros made shock bodies I had ordered. These are what showed up in my mailbox a few weeks later. I love these things

Wow, this rig turned out great! Nice job Brian! Looking forward to this years NENQ again!

I'm about to start a 2.2s build myself and I'll definetly be keeping up with yours for inspiration. It'll be nice to run in more than one class, and it seems like the limitations of the shafty class will only make you a better pro driver, so I may as well give it a shot!

Thanks for the kind words brother. It's been a trip so far and I'm very happy with it at this point.

Another NENQ is going to be great. Had a great time hanging with you Boston boys last year and I believe there was brief talk of a few of us making a trip up to comp with you guys at some point. Lots of good things going on for the upcoming season for sure. I'll be looking for your build as I'm sure it'll be a great one.

It's been some time since any kind of update for the sporty. It's basically been ready to run except for some knuckle weight and a body. Which brings me to this update.

This is to this point, by far, my favorite update for the Suckerpunch. I've been collaberating with David at Crawllife Graphix over the last month or so, tossing ideas around, picking colors, and finalizing the project. By no surprise, through pictures sent back and forth and him knowing the kind of guy I am, I recieved today a perfect representation of my personality. David nailed it and I'm proud to have a piece of his art on my rig. Without further hesitation..................................

That looks great Brian.

Nice job on the build, and David's body really brings it all together.

Very cool.

Thanks Ronald. David is a good dude. Him and I threw ideas around for some time and ultimately came up with what you see. I let in his hands and he delivered.

That's one sharp lookin' truck.

How's your clearance from the electronics tray to Gunnar's front body mount under full compression? Mine is setup similar to yours and that's an area of contention at this point for me.
