Default Panthers UGC Fastback III

I decided to make a new thread since the truck will no longer be a warthog.
I just made an order at Vanquish for front and rear 4-link plates and lower titanium links, Yum. Here is a copy of the post from my last thread.

First I want to give a shout out to Underground Crawlers, I ordered the last Fastback II chassis they had on their website on the 27th and it got here today on the 29th. Hopefully I will be switching from the Warthog chassis soon and start running their chassis. I've had the truck done with the warthog chassis for awhile now and haven't really driven it much, but the few times I have driven it I enjoyed it.

Here are a few pics of the chassis when it arrived today and pics of the completed truck.

What could this be? Lets open it up and find out.

Such a tease.

So what was in that green foam? This

Important seal on the bag.

Starting to look better, Now lets open that stuff.

Now lets find out what was in that paper. Oooohhhhhh

Hardware and braces.

UGC!!!

Now here are some pictures of the truck as it sits.

RX and Low Voltage alarm.

Front shot.

Flexing on the kitchen table.

I went ahead and put the Fastback II chassis together and it was as painless as could be. Here is a picture of it with the truck.

Thank's man. If you need any help just let me know.

Quick update for tonight. My Vanquish Titanium lower links and my Vanquish 4-Link plates came in so I was able to mock the truck up tonight. I am still using stock shocks for now, But with the wheels and tires on it I had 4 inches from the table to the bottom of the skid plate. Now I need to order my Vanquish uppers and I should be about ready to start putting it together.

Here are some pictures from tonight. I didn't get any pictures with the wheels and tires on it so these will have to do for now.

New parts!!!

Links assembled with Revo ends.

Lower links on without upper links.

Lower links on without upper links.

With random upper links to figure out what length I needed.

Came home from work today and had a couple of packages waiting on my. My upper Titanium links from Vanquish came in and so did my Harley Designs screw kit. Hopefully I can get the upper links mounted up tonight and see where I stand on the build.

Vanquish links.

Managed to find a set of revo rod ends at my LHS so I could put the upper links together and threw a set of wraith shocks on while I was at it. It now sits 3 inches from the table to the bottom of the skid plate. Now I'm waiting on my center shafts to come in so I can put it all together.

Finished the truck up last night and got to run it today. It climbs allot better than it did with the old Warthog chassis. I also found out that the Venom 55t motor doesn't have enough power because I could get it to stall easily, So I ordered a Tekin FX-R and a HH TorqueMaster Pro motor for it.

Here it is posing on the rocks today.

Went crawling Saturday and one of the MIP CVD's in my front axle broke and locked up causing me to strip my spur gear. So now I am going to go ahead and swap over to the XR-10 steering set-up. On the plus side I love how the Tekin FXR and the Homes Hobbies Torque Master Pro 35t motor are working on 3s.

Does anyone have any input or am I talking to myself?

Thank's guy's.

I went ahead and just put a set of Axial AX-10 CVD's in it for now until I have some more money to throw at it, But I id go ahead and get a set of longer beef tubes for when I swap over to the XR-10 steering. It's been about a month since I've been able to run it, Here it is sitting on the shelf being neglected just waiting to tear up some rocks.

I finally got around to installing my choke collars from ClassiCutCustoms and I relly like how they work. Before I had issues with the spring cups hitting the link ends under compression and these have fixed that issue.

Here is the housing before.

Here it is with the tabs trimmed and the housing smoothed out a little.

The choke collars.

Here they are slid into place.

And here are the completed pictures.

How are you liking those choke collars? I'm thinking of adding those to my build.

I love them, I like how they separate the link and shock mounting on the truck.

How do you like the Fastback 2 chassis? I just ordered me one and I was wondering if you can use the stock ax10 links?

I love it, it's a great working setup. No you can't use the stock links, the stock links are I think 50/50 I think I have this setup 60/40.

Did you have to change your links length when you put on the collars? I'm thinking of getting a set.

The rear upper links could be a little shorter after putting the collars on but other than that the rest of them were fine.
