See... This is where you and Erik differ.

You are a dull crayon IN the box.

Whereas Erik is a dull crayon OUTISDE OF THE BOX.

PS. Erik, you will want to shave down those upswept nipples on the end of the shock arms.

I prefer to be in "the box". You're a newlywed why the hell aren't you in the box

Updates?

Axles
Trans
Chassis

Not much left to be top secret....

Links, wheels, driveshafts, shocks, electronics, and a body are all that's left I'm my very simple mind....

This sucker is definately suckered...
Its not a HUGE secret, just some parts that turned out super cool and I want to sell them. These days, I need to be able to test a part and be able to sell it the instant I put it on the net. If not, it puts me in a worse position when others use the design for their use. Its really, really hard to do a build thread this way and it sucks. I wish I could just throw the pictures up but I am not willing to do that at this time.

Why, for the body?

He put a ring on it to get in the box but the irony is that he will be outside the box much more often. Travis will need to get used to a life outside the box from now on. Now if he were to go to prison, I bet he would spend most of his time in the "hole".

I believe he already has plans for the shock arms.

Plus your one of the only ones to ever have a problem with them to my knowledge.

One could say "my tranny is hung".

I was going to hang it way differently but the holes in the Chaotic chassis just happened to be where I wanted them so, it was just too convenient not to use.

It worked out a lot narrower than I anticipated. At the skid I am 1.7" wide, thats narrower than my Berg I am not sure how much I like that yet.

If any of you out there are religious, please pray for my driveshaft angles

Oh, and before I go any further. I am not the only dull crayon outside the box. There have been other dull crayons giving me ideas that all contribute to this build thread and a lot of things I do so, much thanks to all of you!

Trans ratio is a different animal but similar. I wanted it just a touch deeper for personal reasons.

Final ratio including pinion should come out between 13:1-21:1 depending on pinion size used. I am not 100% sure what the smallest or largest pinion will be as it looks like I will have to re make that motor plate to adjust the motor slightly different than originally planned.

Go Team Dull Crayon!

It's turning out awesome Erik. How big a diameter are those outputs?

I dont understand how those could be a problem while on the roof? To me, it seems like I would want them just to make sure the body is standing off the shocks a bit. If there is one thing that bothers me about a body, its the idea of the body touching the shocks, even a little bit. Let me know if I am missing something.

Outputs are 10mm.

Well, first those nipples nippled the body. Then one broke off and I fractured another. So I just sanded the rest off round after the first hole.

10mm is massive!

I gotcha.

Doesn't matter anyway. I'm subscribed....

Each update is an idea you won't see on any other build.

What a breath of fresh air.

Great job.

I'm Not sure how you Hawaiians drive, but here on the big island we drive with our tires on the ground.

I thought the current comp crawler trend was to be able to drive while upside down?

I was somewhat concerned about the strength of the outputs until I realized they are the same approx size as the aluminum tubes I used to make for the front Berg axle tubes

Thanks Harvo!

I never spent much time in this section either until lately. I think I am liking it. I have realized that a huge (or most) of this hobby to me is the builds and custom parts that people make. This is why I enjoy the Berg and super class. This section seems to have a lot of custom and not just a bunch of people buying parts and bolting them on.
