While I had to remove the trans to fit the driveshafts, I pulled a final weight.

40g

Does anybody have the weight of a stock trans handy?

A stock scx10 trans weighs 115g with the cover and 104g without the cover but with the stock 87t spur and slipper.

Driveshafts are in and this thing is rollin!

It was a lot of work trying to get everything where I want it and figure in all the adjustability I wanted. Here you can see the busy intersections that I had to deal with. I can just sit and look at all the mechanics of it for hours. I am nerdy like that.

Thanks man! Its been a long time since I worked on a shafty. I remember many, many late nights with my LCC trying to get everything in the right places, I dont think it ever happened. It is taking a long time for this car too but its looking pretty good so far.

An LCC was my first. That thing drove me crazy trying to get more clearance out of it. I think the "binding" was binding on that thing.

Looks great. I think I may need to revisit the idea of crazy bent links once you see my GC numbers.

Integy 35t, its a beast!

Really though, I have some nice Brood power coming my way. I would give some specs but after looking at Broods new website options http://www.teambrood.com/store/produ...roductid=17690 I thought I was starting to fully understand motors but now I feel just as lost as ever.

On his new website, he walks you through EACH AND EVERY PART to make sure you get what you want. The information is amazing and the idea that you can custom build every single part and be informed about it at the same time is simply awesome.

Having said that, I didnt have these tools so I asked him to build something "bad ass". He assured me he would do just so. I will see if he wants to chime in with the specs.

Yeah, I had it on the work bench, put it on its side and I could already tell that it will "sidehill like none other". After being on its side, I stood it up, flexed it out, lifted the rear, and instantly I could tell it was "predictable" all while "flat out working".

Headed towards the home stretch...

I made some body mounts using some old Gunner mounts I had laying around. Obviously things have changed a bit since I last ran a shafty. No longer are we using 1/4" Delrin braces so I had to come up with something.
