Dlux Sportsman build

I just got "all" my parts in for this build. Everything else should be custom. I have had a couple of minutes to look at things and I think I am already going to ditch the AX10 housings in favor of Wraith. We will see...

This will be my slowest build ever considering almost all of it will be one off stuff. I think I have pretty good ideas that I will implement into this.

I am heavily looking into the Sucker Punch or the Chaotic Nino chassis as I am really digging both, I am just not sure either will support the ideas I want to use. I may have to end up building the chassis too.

I was wondering how long after the AZ Shootout it would be, these little trucks get addictive quickly.
Should be a fun build for ya.

Should be pretty easy to finish up. I need to order a 2mm tap though. Last time I made these for my Wraith I used the screw to do the tapping. STRESSFUL!

Yeah, I think its 801's future and maybe the future of crawling to a point? I hope sportsman can help our group grow. If nobody builds a sporty in 801 I am stuck driving this car with those "scale" guys :emoticon of a throwing up guy:

Really though, I can have as much fun building as driving. The only thing that turns me off from building anything and everything is cost but, I have all the electronics ready to go and other things so this should be a "cheap" build other than labor.

I'm sayin, pro is awesome. However if buying one less motor and deciding " beef tubes " or not, gets more folks involved then its a great thing. I have 2 sporty builds going on. Your " mad scientist " approach to building prompted me to do an experiment of my own. Chris the B man is helping me out with an over done set of ax axles and a super budget set. Chassis will be comparable in geo. keeping close tabs on what is spent and the ill head out with them, forehead camera all mounted up and ill see what is BS and what really helps. It should be fun. If there is anything you really need and can't or don't want to make, hit me up. I'd laugh to email you to say " your parts are on their way ":)

Well..... not to get too much into it but,... Stubs and I were talking one day and he brought up the idea that there should be classes within the 2.2 so the new guy does not show up and get destroyed. If that guy had a "Newbie" class and could show up on day 1 and potentially get podium, we thought there would be much less chance of these people showing up 1 time and never coming back. In 801, we still get a random guy show up, usually with a shafty and he gets dominated and we never see him again.

My idea is a shafty class and allow either USRCCA compliant sporty rigs OR allow a ultra 4 scale type rig to complete such as a Wraith, Honcho, Ridgecrest etc,.

They would all run the same gates and compete against each other but then also implement the classes above so dude can buy his Wraith on Friday at the hobby shop, come compete Saturday and get 1st place in the "newbie" class.

Anyway, I hope that does not derail this thread too much.... PM enroute

The wheel spacers you used for your paddles.

Ah.

Well, whatever you paid, you paid too little for those! They took me forever! I was tempted to keep those even though I had no use for them.
