Works well. I wish it had the gears enclosed but I know a guy that might be fixing that. These really hit a good price point for an indestructible trans, even with or without the upgrade Dlux berg gears (gives a lower ratio and 48P gears for easy to find pinions). I tested the metal MT gears and they held up fine, I don't think those will ever break. I'd be interested to give the plastic ones a shot also for a mega light trans.

Plastic gears with a lightened "4th" gear on an aluminum locker with a Ti output shaft would be feather weight and very strong. I only have issues with the 4th gear in plastic when being ignorant with bigger power. It's simply due to the small 3rd gear having limited tooth contact with the 4th that strips them.

But, keep in mind Trashy, your car is much heavier than the 2.2s class cars and youre running 4s. I think plastic gears have a legit shot in a 2.2s car with a reasonable driver.

Also, you have to remember that you can mix and match gears. So, if you do strip the 4th gear, you can just replace the 4th gear with metal and keep the rest plastic.

OR..... you can try your chances again with plastic as the whole gear cluster runs about $5.

Absolutely agreed, my rig is a 5.5 lb tank with dumb power and the plastic gears held until I got ignorant. I'm running an mt metal 4th gear now with no worries about breakage.

Had a few months off to refresh the car, no changes as it works too damn good. Painted a new body though and retired the beat up green one.

Hi Cboggs, I wonder if you could elaborate a little bit on "coming back to stock axles". Apart from stock c-hubs and knucles, you said 'axles' - do you mean shafts that go to each wheel? Does it mean that you were more happy with the performance of stock rather then Axial Universals/CVDs?
Did you run beef tubes or just plain stock Wraith axles?

Thanks in advance
