Those laid back/bent shock end are a good idea troy creating much needed space in a normally cramped area

I would love to take credit for the bent link ends.. I remember seeing it somewhere first tho, I believe JD mentioned in his El Nino build..
Deff a big help! Tho the are taller, so some limiting or cutting them a little shorter might be in order.
Will find out soon, drag link to be mounted and I'm hitting the rocks!
Lmao @ Bob.. have ya seen my pro rig!? :-D

She's under her own power! HH power that is...
Till I got it built, running, and off for the family Xmas tree, the weather had changed for the not so friendly of conditions..

So instead.. I went back to work on a trial an error, test an tune project..

I like my axle clocked a little more then most, so I shortened the front uppers. I like my drive shaft above my lower links in the rear, so I made them longer..

Will get them on get pics and weight savings..

(its hunting season, so its a little slow on the RC side.

Great fitment and tight tolerance..

58 grams with aluminum screws, other then the 2 ti screws that come with the Hulksta tranny, and stock gears.. (i was one gear shy of having enough LW gears for it) oh well..

Can't wait to get this mounted and tested..

Long time and a little done.. between the holidays, snow, snow plowing, snow melting and More snow!

I got a few packs thru the rig as it sits.. I'm digging it! And no tuning done Yet..

Well, after the first couple packs, I was a little unhappy bout rolling over and the only thing to hit was my spur..
I like bein able to watch the whole rig Work while I'm testing an I'm waiting for some sweet body mounts..

As I was moving some stuff around in my parts bin, I came to realize, I still have the VP spur guard and I just happen to have the VP motor plate on the tranny in the El Nino.. duh....

Dam, it doesn't fit... Hahahaha...

Yay.. a care package! Gotta love that..

As for the tranny, its goin to get even better. Got fresh LW gears for the xr and goin to drop the others in the hulksta tranny.. see how LW it gets then! :-)

Cool Re: El Nino III build for "Winner"

I dropped your care package off at the post office today now tell mr squach to NOT steal your package! And that tranny sounds like a cool idea. I should check it out for my AX10... only problem is keeping the nasty gritty shale rock crap out here OUT of the gearbox

I think the gears will be good in the open tranny. Ill Shale see how it makes out. My dad has a shale pit at his house, that I knocked a couple piles of bigger stuff close together for crawling.. a good smooth test on tires and dusty, dirty test for the tranny..

Thanks Chris! Yeah yeah.. the custom Custom Fiber is comin.. soon.. other build, more winter worthy, goin on right now and taking my time up..

Tho I have been running packs thru the El Nino and so far so good. Getting a good feel for it, before I start changing things around on it..

Slacker here.. about time I post some of what's goin on..

After having blown a od gear out at the last comp this past year, I replaced the od gear set. All was well, sorta, for a little while. But I would get a skip here and there during some full throttle sharp steering or when in a bind.
Well it took till a replaced a Ar60 housing with a worn out, output bearing pocket, with a new Dlux Ar60 housing, too realize wtf was goin on..

Yeah, that doesn't ever help much.. lol..

So I replaced the housing and the gear set, yet again..

Then I worked on the motor.. I replaced the stage 4 LW can on my HH Team pro crawl 13t, with a full can.

Name: uploadfromtaptalk1392054446988.jpg
Views: 640
Size: 40.7 KB

(nevermind the bl motor, only pic I had)

I also was having issue with my horn into the shock..

Name: uploadfromtaptalk1392054569259.jpg
Views: 639
Size: 55.5 KB

So after some searching and confusion of price to necessity..
I picked up a Hudy horn.

At worst! Full extension...

I can also make upper links a touch longer and get rid of that completely (just haven't yet)
I also talked with Calvin about a servo mount that's only a 1/4" from mounting hole to servo mount. Which should move the servo away from the shock bout 1/8".. So more help to follow..

Got my Dlux body mounts on. Not in the final resting place but worked with the holes in the body I already had.

As for now, she's all back together, rtr, and a not so shabby 3lbs 15oz..

Ran a couple packs a day for the last few days. The 13t HH has really come ti life with the full can on.. maybe a little too much life?

So I tore the front axle down and replaced the pinion gear. All back together now, but have some changes/modifications to make.

I noticed the servo/link plate was twisting or pulling down and lifting, as I turned the wheels.. so a little fix for that coming. I'm also getting the back of the front tires hung up in the links at max turn. (more so when in the rocks and binding a little) steering stop needed.

Edit: I made some new front upper to clock the axle a little better to my liking..

The rig has been working good. Another few days and I can start changing a thing or 2 and see how it acts.

The steering just wasn't there for me.. not like I had it setup when these axle were on my sss-rs.. so I started fiddling..

I put the tie rod under my CW crawlers steering arms and rotated it up. Same amount of clearance as when on top, but gave the ability to turn the epa's up a touch. The revo ends are now a steering stop on the chubs.

Still not there tho.... I just couldn't get the shorter arm, that was needed to clear the shock, to give me the throw I was looking for.
After talking to Calvin(CW) about a servo mount that would give less distance from mount screw to face of servo mount, I grabbed a drill and tap till the new servo mounts hit the market..;)

.36" was stock.. I went in at .20"

landed about perfect! So before I take the horn to the dremel mill(where it's closest to the shock cup), I'm goin to look at a couple horns first and just run it how it is.

Name: uploadfromtaptalk1394216289164.jpg
Views: 538

it also allowed me to get full throw without maxing out my epa's.. bonus!

Since my last update, I ran some packs.. the servo was twisting and bending the link plate..

So I got some flat head screws out and cut some CF tube for between the axle and link plate..

Name: uploadfromtaptalk1394508780709.jpg
Views: 506

Ran a few packs today.. it's a thing of beauty! Not a single flex to the plate, steering was responsive and on point..

The El Nino chassis is doin some serious work! I'm still noticing a thing here and there that could be better. I just don't feel I know the actions and reactions of the new setup good enough to change anything just yet.. 20 days to first comp, I think I'll be ready and dialed in by then..

As for the electronics.. the 13t Team pro crawl is treating me well.. I'm finding the gearing to be a good mix of torque and wheel speed.

The Br-mini is kicking ass at this point. 3 hard packs and no signs of giving up. It runs with minimal heat(then again it's only 35° out)
With the serious binds and hard work I was putting it thru, it would of showed signs of heat, I believe..
