Thanks John! Why didn't I get a snake in the start line pic!? Lmao...

Ok, so a couple changes, to get it back to where it was at ECC.

After I got back I thought I would try internal micro crawler springs, which help keep the rear down and act as a 5mm limiter when shock is extended.
Which works as should.
I also put bent link end's on to widen them out at the axle.
Well, the 2 combined didn't make it happy, as it made my spring rate softer with the bent link ends. Which caused the internal springs to act twice as strong and do funky things.

Then last week I put the Dlux sway bar on for a test at the last comp.. Wellllllll, it's off now.
I can see it's benefits in spots and the draw backs in others. With round rolling mono rock, A+, with the rock we run that's more rip rap, I don't see the benefit as much.
That and it seemed to stiffen up the rear action, I like my rigs rears on the loose side..

So back to normal link ends and no sway bar kit. I left the internal springs in.

I couldn't take the thought of my endbell of the HH 400 puller pointing forward and the first thing to hit the rocks.

So I grabbed a used motor guard out of my box and cut, cut, cut..

Now I can give a real beating without worrying about the brush wire getting ripped off mid run!

Ready for RI trip today!!!

Bit of a noon question on your crawler. I see the 4 link setup and the shocks laid way down. What are the small rods that stand straight up? Stabilizer or sway bar? Thanks Billy g

Mmm, which picture or which post are you looking at!

Do you mean the posts that my upper rear links are mounted to on top the rear link plate?

As a team driver I'd REALLY like a mini guard for my 400. I'd be hurting to scratch that beauty.

Thanks Bob. Yeah, I can't believe the Vast difference the straight link ends on the rear shocks make, like running a tuned rig compared to running a stock rig!

As soon as the pro videos of the CCC Mutt are done downloading, I'll start the shafty videos. Lots of pics of location and town to post as well. Just need to look thru them first.

Paint! Speaking of paint David...... I guess it's RT for NENQ.. My x-citer is Almost a
Convertible... :/

Roll that beautiful bean footage...

Thanks Bob (RIcrawler) and Cory (purptr8r) for video!

I finished the course, video didn't make out so well.. Lol..

C1, RI comp at Nat's location w/ Boston crawlers: http://youtu.be/6MFWV-ebAIE

C2 was a fun run. Menton of only doin 2 course's kicked Bob and I into high gear to build a 3rd. We then realized it was a easy course, so a repeating bonus worth -2 points was thrown in and a 4min time limit.. To keep things moving quickly.
I then forgot during my run that it was 4 mins.. Lol.. A fun course for sure!

, Chaotic El Nino @ Nat's location in RI: http://youtu.be/SeezeanUAJ0

Then to course 3.. A little miss hap, that will be dealt with for the NENQ..

C3, Nat's location in RI w/ Boston Crawlers: http://youtu.be/UK7Ig3NA_bY

Now for a update.. I had a HH 13t 500 sitting here, that I use for making motor guards, so I pulled the 400(which has been and is a Great little motor) for the extra smooth start-up of the 5 slot crawl type puller..

Only 2 more changes, cosmetic, before the NENQ..

A motor guard and to move on from...

Done worn out..

Slacker, here.. Lol..

It's been a while with Zero updates and Zero video.. :(

What I do have.. The NENQ was awesome this year and a pile of Great drivers!

I managed to pull a 5th place finish. My 3rd 5th place finish in sporty in 3 Nat's qualifier's.. Hmmm.. Not looking that so much! I think I put everything into pro class that weekend, which netted me a 1st place finish, so no complaints there!

Anywho.. During the giveaways, there where a Ton of awesome prizes!!!
I ended up with a set of some saaweeet tires by EY designs, known as voodover's( i like, do-overs)...
Eve informed me that I have a one of a kind set, at this point.. It's his first set with silver sidewalls..

Line them up with some 5th D ti negative space wheels..

I have around 10 packs on them and they felt Amazing on my home course.. Then I took them to my local crawl spot.. They didn't feel so Amazing anymore. :/
But.. I'm pretty sure it's the front foams that need a work over.. I'm goin to go softer to start with and maybe even a little firmer. The rears seem to really push the rig up climbs/around the rocks where the front got lifted out hung up.

Anyone with experience with these tires... I'm listening...... Thanks

I mentioned this earlier but worth throwing it out there. I'm starting with 6" narrowed soft fronts and 6" narrowed med rear. I found that standard 5.5 made them soft and they wadded up good but packed them too much on the side wall. I'm personally hoping to get these tires right. Samu rocks em, they have to work! Lol

Yup..... What David said. You don't have enough foam inside them. That has to be close to a 6" tire now and 5.5 are just not going to support them. The lugs can't do their work if the carcass just gives under them.

Yeah, the new style inner is too much.. It doesn't allow the sidewall to do any work.
I have a old style narrow 5.5" inner and just found some med an firm tuning rings.. I'm goin to give em a go.
I also, if I felt like pulling my doo's apart, have the narrow CC 6" inner in the fronts and narrow regulars in the rear..
Hmmm.. Is it worth it tho... Cause I Know my doo setup works on the Nat's rock..

I think... Scary... It's the new style inners messing with the sidewalls, that's taking most of the performance out of them..

I'm goin to throw the fronts on the rear and rears on the front.. Go run the same lines and see what the difference is.. Go with the Extremes... I'll let you know what happens

Ok ok, I like the do-overs a little bit more then Alot... Now!!

Nothing a dremel can't make better!

I threw the 5.5 old style narrow inners in, after I "comp cut" them.. Fat sanding drum in the dremel. Ran it in till the shaft, of the sanding drum was close to the foam, an wrapped a firm tuning ring around the soft outer.

Had a newbie come to town with a XR today, so I took the sporty an the Mutt out for some rock time.

The foam change was a Positive one! I may, when I can get my hands on a pair, even stack a soft tuning ring on top the firm and see how I feel about that..

As of now the do-overs have a new home! Great bite an smooth crawling!!!!

Looks great man. You'd laugh at my first attempt. With a glue on wheel to boot! I new they needed to be full but I put far too many rings on and they looked like a stock Sedona when I glued them. Haha!! I'm just ordering the 6" narrowed from EY when I order my next set for sept. It's worth it for me. I can dremel a body straight but foams.....na.

Lol... The pic was one of strategery, for sure! ;) you don't know what the rest of the foam looks like.... Lol..

I ran my first 2 packs without the tires glued... And held.. Then only 3 dabs of glue on them for testing. Easily peeled off for foam change. Still only 3 dabs.. For now.
Another day for crawling an test an tune tomm.. Before I put a few more spots of glue to stay..

Maybe even a wheel change before that..
