Default Rottenbellys sucker punch.

This is just gonna be a rig for me to drive for fun. I haven't been comping or built a rig for over 4 years now. So there's none of that I high tech, weight saving fancy building stuff here. Don't care how much it's gonna weigh.Yes it's gonna have a dig on it, if I feel like running a comp I will take it off. Just something to go have fun with.
I gathered most of these parts from the Classifieds on here.
Chassis from the scorpion king.
Thanks to these fine folks for the help finding the parts.
Erik D_Lux for the tranny.
NorZepol for the dig.
1r3land for the wheels.
Chicklet for the driveshafts.
Pipedreams for the shocks
Scaleready for esc and motor.
All the new parts from RPP of course.
And a few I forgot I'm sure. Thanks.

I plan on running a Ar 60 front. Ax 10 rear axle. Stock tranny, integy 35 t, hitec 7950. Over and under drive gears. And more upgrades later down the line.
Got the axles together and chassis ready.

Did a quick fab on some lower links.

Still gotta make some upper link mounts and wait for more rod ends.
But so far it's sitting a little higher than I like so I may tear down and limit my shocks a bit.

You'll definitely have fun it with it no doubt. The SP was designed around 3.5" shocks so cap modded big bores are definitely too long. Instead of limiting them internally, I'd just out stock caps back on and use DlUx standoffs.

And it's the first time I've see an SP with a dig in it. I forgot how big those things were. I'd highly recommend you run the three point chassis stiffeners, though. Perhaps use a cross brace sbetween the front like normal, and just run screws and nuts on the rear two positions, and the a cross brace btween the rear shocks (once you get them shorter.

AnywYs good luck it

I think I'm gonna end up just getting shorter shocks if I can get some stock caps.
And I am defiantly gonna make sure it has some good crossbracing.
The one hole on the chassis lines up right behind the dig servo, so that should help.
I was gonna build a chassis but I knew I had to have one of these when I saw it!
Thanks for the tips, I am kinda rusty after being out of the sport for a few years.

Looking good so far. When setting up your suspension, try and keep your front and rear shock mounting points on the chassis level with each other.

Got a little done while I wait for parts. Made some link mounts for the rear axle from a old ax 10 servo mount.
Cut a front servo/ link/ battery plate out of some delrin I had laying around.
And dug up a old body to use.

LOL, thanks. Got some stock shock caps in. Working on getting them set up.
Also got some steering links finished.
Just waiting on a new esc since my son needed a new one in his Twin hammers.
Can't wait to give it a spin!!

Time for test and tune. Took the dig out. Put on a duuuuddddeee 4 link mount. Got it lowered to a hair over 3 inches.
Ended up at 11.25 wide in front. Not sure how to narrow it up without changing wheels or narrowing axle.
Just gonna run it for now and see how it is.

I was just reading up on those. Might have to try them.
I'm running .325 hubs and had to do a little dremal work on the knuckles to make some room.
Out west here I think the width may help a little. Back east in the jagged rocks the narrow track seemed to help.
Gonna give it a good day of testing tomorrow.

Dlux v2 knuckles with a zero offset will get your front at 10.75 and the rear is 10.5 with his modified rc4wd hubs.

You cant go wrong with these knuckles they offer so many options and adjustments. I'm experimenting right now with a really cool setup that can only be had with these knuckles and it seems very promising so far.

Sounds good. Looks like i gotta place a order with D lux before i come back home.

Rig drove very well today. Has a little torque twist and seems to want to hop on the steep climbs. Gonna give a sway bar setup a try next time i get some wrench time avalible.

Did it make it up that very in the first pic? I miss being on rock like that.

And what is your shock and spring setup?

Yep. It made it up that first pic rock. Had a few spots it would spin and hop then grab, but it made it.
Running big bores with 30 wt oil and losi mini green springs. The front shocks have the cap mod and I'm running the fuel tubing thru the rear shock caps.
Rear upper links were in the bottom hole. Going to raise them up a hole and try it again.

30wt lays feels too stiff to me in big bores. I typically start at 22.5 but to be honest, I have no idea what is in my shocks right now

Whatever the case, 30wr and greens sound too slow and stiff IMO. Might solve one problem and exacerbate another.
