Default Kinggee's Sporty from another mother

Dont know where to put this thread but figured this works. Been working on this project off and on forever now and believe its ready to be released to the rcc community finally. Took it out for its maiden voyage yesterday and after some tuning its ready for our comp this sat. I'll have some final assembly pictures here soon but for now heres my twin hammer/axial/customized project.

Details of the rig:
Custom hand made chassis by me
BRXL smashed with all the other goodies
Brood creep 45t
Protek servo
32 pitch ring and pinions
Wraith tranny with the steel internals
Dlux sway bar with a thinner music wire rod
Junfac drivelines for now
Modified xr/hammers rear axles and locker in the front axle
Custom 1 piece 4340 rear axle with custom locker
Stock hammers ring and pinions for now
SCX10 shocks with machined pistons and the new RCBRO springs (thanks buddy, they are a nice addition to the tuning factor)
XR VP chubs and knuckles with DLUX knuckle weights
Silver narrowed voodoos and Y Town dubs spinning with shift hubs

Started out cutting tubes for a centered front diff but ended up doing this:

Rear axle:

Bought some 3/16 ti and made up some links:

And have a halfway BTA setup which will get redone once i know this is all gonna work out:

No fancy camera or piece of carbon fiber to set it all on but a meesy bench and a sheet of delrin will have too do. Ill post up my final rolling pics soon once the new bodys on and everythings ready to finally go. I need to change up the trans gearing to accomidate the hammers ring and pinion and do some shock/link placement tuning. Other than that theres no failures to report after the virgin run yesterday.

Look impressive Great job, reminds me of a Berg

Which gears will you use in your axles? Is there a OD and UD possible?

Thanks. As of now its the stock twin hammers. Im looking at finding some stock ax10 gears and seeing if they can be modified to work. I dont know that ill miss the od/ud from the ax10 that this rig previously had but a comp will tell.

Very clean, Dan. I think you'll be wanting to do OD/UD, though. Be interesting to see what you come up with.

Thanks for the compliments. Pretty good they way it all worked out being my first big project with a new mill and lathe. Havent used either till I just went and bought them. It can only get better from here once I man up and cnc the machines.

If it holds up to this weekends comp you shouldn't have any problems for the rest of the season, that place is hard on cars!

See there are still builders on here! This rig is pretty sweet. I'm not sure what I'm more proud about, you making a custom sporty, or actually posting a build thread hahaha.

Ill take either. Started my berg build but failed to complete it. Figured this build needed to be shared.

Very refreshing!
Congrats on the project and I hope that you'll be able to get some OD/UD gears in there.

Looks great!

Failure is the only way to improve on a design. Things didnt go to plan at our comp for its maiden voyage. So rear tube failures lead me to improve and simplify the design. New tubes and big thanks to RcBro for allowing the link mounts. Time to rearrange link lengths. Started to work on the ring and pinion od/ud mod. Gotta drill out the holes for the locker on the ring gear now that it fits and decide how to get the pinion to work.

Pushed the limits on thickness of the tubes and just wasnt enough threads. End up pulling one of the link mounts off under a heavy bind. Tried a forward bias with the links too and did not like it. So after another project im working on now its back to give the sporty some attention. New links and figure out the ring and pinion od/ud mod and itll be back in action.

Redone and ready for our comp this sat. Hammers front still and ax10 rear w/underdrive. I actually like the way its currently setup. Seems faster in the front with this setup. Still messing with the rear hammers setup and getting the ax10 gears to work. Been busy with other projects for people lately.

Had a decent comp. It held up this time. The current setup with the twin hammer front axle ratio vs the underdrive rear ax10 is very nice with helping the front in a tight turn. Downside i cant quite wrap my head around...it feels like the rear wants to push the front in a high traction obstacle. Im thinking of swapping the rear axle ratio back to the stock ax10 ratio. Havent battled this issue yet so trial and error will tell.

Great work on this project. The axles look Sick!

As for ur "issue"... Ur getting "push".. Goin back to stock ratio in the rear will seemingly make it worse..

Push comes from link geo, not gear ratio..

Are ur links setup how they where in earlier pics?
Can you post a body off pic from the side?

Without seeing anything, I would say, raising ur rear uppers a hole at the chassis will take the push away.
