| My Shafty.. Crawligan S
This Weekend I finaly started my shafty build. First of all I started to build the chassis.. Took the drawing of a friend(thanks Chester!), did some small changes.. Drillend some holes.. Made some al spacers, and milled the gear plates.. Today I changed the screws and took some netter pics. Quite ok with the big skid.. Time to build some links Felix |

Yes, it does look suspiciously familiar...other than the straight side braces.

I'll stick with the high road and agree with the flattery T. At least people know what design works. Maybe we will see some 3 spokes as well;)

Just to make things a bit clearer: @TheScorpionKing: your Suckerpunch is one of the most beautiful shafty-chassis I`ve ever seen. And yes, some of your design influenced me by drawing up this chassis. But: at first I had the gearbox you can see in Felix' pictures, then I designed the chassis around it. I don`t think that the geometry is the same as yours. Probably it`s closer to the SuDu geometrywise than to the Suckerpunch. I apologize for keeping the design so close to yours because I really liked the look of it and I promise that no one will ever make any profit out of this chassis. There are existing 3 chassis made in Germany, the one you see here and two of them in my hands (one handcut out of 3mm Makrolon, one made of carbon). I will change the look of it so that it doesn`t look like the suckerpunch anymore. I hope you can live with the appreciation that made me "copy" your design. So please don`t blame Felix, he did not know where the design came from and just saw my Shafty at "Supercrawl" do work and asked for my drawings to build up a shafty for him. |
