With a comp coming up this Sunday and a bundle I bought off the for sale section with new parts.
I decided it was time to get to work.. I pulled the tranny out, to check gear lube and clean the motor.
With the rear shaft off already, I grabbed that bundle an found the SDI shafts that came in it..
I'm still not pulling the MIP off the front, just yet.. Let's get some testing on the rear first..
Well, it's cut and grooved to length. Before I put it in for the final time, I thru it on the scale..
It's 8 grams lighter then the wb8 and All steel! It being steel was more of my direction, but a little weight off the rear is always nice too. ;)

Since the scale was out, and I didn't know what this thing weighed after World's, from adding weight between course's, I thru it on the scale as well..
With a rtr weight of 1555 grams(this is without Trying and still have aluminum cross braces coming and CF uppers to make this winter), I think my move to a 13t pinon, from a 12t, should give me just a touch more pep without losing any torque from my 30t HH 400 puller..

That's a cute drive shaft. So tiny.

Lol! Let me know how it holds up. I dunno of it will be any lighter than a maxx shaft but it looks promising.

Btw... how much is 1555 grams in standard measure?

Yeah, I'll be interested to see how it holds up as well..
Luckily with it being new, I think it should be good for the 6 course's on Sunday and then a winter full of testing, before the first spring comp

Lol.. 3.4lbs or 3lbs 6.9ozs

When you get your "new and improved" front servo/battery mount, can you take a pic of the backside? I'd like to see what happens with the link/shock mount.

The stock axle shock/link mounts or the dog collar sick/link mounts?

The stock ones are used(untouched) and the dog collars can't be used(unless you raise ur servo over the one) ..

Thanks for those. Stock mounts. I didn't think there was enough room back there without the servo being too much forward.

Scaler land really takes up some time! With spring coming.. Upgrades are welcome!

First.. A little do up on the last comp.. We ended up only running 3 course's, but Great course's!
The Boxer took a W..

The terrain..

Jslick, What!

And now..
Since the pro and mini are running Dlux knuckle weights, I thought the Boxer should be as well. Sorta... ;)

I checked the weights between a VP knuck and the weight I was running, against the weight of the XR Dlux knuckle.. 15g heavier for the Dlux knuckle.. So not much difference and maybe just the perfect amount! This brought my rtr up to 3lbs 8.3ozs and the forward bias up on my link ends..

It took a shorter tie rod for this setup.. Not much, just a little. But the normal tie rod (Chaotic Crawler's tie rods) that worked for the XR and XR modded sporty with VP knuckles, have some toe out. For me and my likes..

So here's what I had to throw on, off my Berg, which I'll replace that with a Chaotic 7075 straight tie rod..

A touch of bending on the driver side yet, but all is smooth and free steering from lock to lock.. Man are the bearings from C's to knucks Nice to have!!!

All in all.. I'm liking these Dlux knuckles!
The price tag can be a Shock, at first.. But when ya look at the cost of a set of VP knuckles and a set of knuckle weight's to go with them.. They really aren't any more expensive.. Not to mention all the options that can be stacked with the Dlux knuckles: extra weight, bigger bearings, no "top hat" bushings, etc, etc..

The HH servo has been working out great.. This is still the same servo from the NENQ, back in July, off my pro rig..

I have a couple new ones with the new all steal gears, ready to go in other rigs..

Rig looks good Troy, can't wait to see it this season.

Got a set of SDI shafts sitting here for some time now. Planned on stuffing them in the mini, but now I'm wondering if my Maxx shafts need to go. Save weight and all metal.....very cool.

Yeah, I think those hoodlums he teaches, are rubbing off on him! Lol...

MIP's for the mini, SDI for the sporty.. Atleast the rear. I'm not sure my faith in them is strong enough to pull the MIP off the front.. Yet..

Hoping to get out on the rocks with ya soon, Kevin!

EDIT: I forgot to post the weight of my new motor.. It's a little heavier then the advertised 110g, for a 400 puller, but I can live with the 113g that it weights! ;)
