This is from the electronics section... If you are using Spektrum gear, I would also add a ground wire from the servo to the Rx. This diagram also assumes you'll be powering the Rx with the ESC and the BEC will only power the servo. This will ensure you're getting full power to the servo. Definitely needed when you go to a stronger servo. |

| Re: Scorpion Sportsman Build You've mentioned 32 pitch a couple of times, both my Scorpions came with 48 pitch gears, did you order the right gears? This is what mine looked like when I was running comps...... And now...... I think the only things still stock on the truck are the aluminum hexes it came with, and the rear axle (well, most of it). I've purchased a vast majority of my parts from TCS crawlers. I cannibalized the wife's Scorpion and turned it into this...... Would've been hella-easier to have just started with an SCX, but oh well. This also has been extensively 'massaged' as well. (I) Look forward to seeing what you're working with. . |

Way behind on the build. Boe season came in so I've been hunting a lot. I'm just know getting back to the build a little. Well if the 32p is wrong then I've got the wrong pinion gears for it. I just checked and they don't line up. So know should I change the plastic 48p gear to a metal 32p or... ? |

48 pitch should do fine for you. IMO 32 pitch isn't needed until you go with a powerful brushless system.

Well I finally got the time to get the scorpion up and running. How season ran a little long this year. Smart bucks are hard to get. Must say pretty fun just fulling around on the steps in the house. Can't wait to get it outside. Atm it's pretty stock other then new 30 degree lower links, servo / battery front axle plate and know working on changing it to a 4 link. Few questions though. Keep in mind I'm using a FM tx. After the BR mini sink and I move the throttle stick forward I get a green light. The when I back up I get a red light. Is this correct? I read the manual online but it doesn't say. Also trying to decide 1.9 or 2.2 any advice???? I like the narrower tire look like most run on the suppers. Considering the vanquish stage 1 kit... with that maybe the STW Hubs but not sure how the hub sizes work.... Shock advice ? Got to scrap this plastic ones Last edited by Jfannin; 02-16-2015 at 08:15 PM. |
