I took EverettY's recommendation and settled on the SDI scale driveshafts. He had an extra set lying around and made me a great deal on them. Still need to figure out the proper length and then will probably have some Ti shafts made for them also. These things appear to be just the ticket; light weight, and super small diameter for that little bit of extra clearance when you need it.

And yes ..... TROY ... The tread patterns are opposite .... On the same tire .... It is a practice tire to see where the cuts and seems need to be and what I need to remove for material ;)

That last pic of ur roller, really shows the layout detail of the chassis.. Straight link lines, shock geo, and nasty looking belly clearance from front to back!
I always enjoyed the level plane, of the skid, of my sss-rs-cf. Looks like Don stayed with that, but gave higher mounting points for the shocks.. I think a 3" shock was prefect on the front of the sss-rs..

The blue shock caps and blue an red springs keep real nice with the color scheme.. Can't wait to see the body for it!

It was actually designed to have some rake to it. As it sits now it has a slight amount, but as I begin tuning it will probably have a bit more. I was always amazed at how well my SSS-R was able to get over things with a level skid; so this should do even better.

The blue, yes. The red, not so much but there's no telling what colors they'll be by the time I dial it in.
Body will be blue/black with a touch of my usual tiger stripes.

Thanks Austin. I'll play around with the shocks, etc. after it's running so the stance may change some, but it's probably not too far off.

Finally got a little bit of time in the shop last night so I set to work on getting the steering set up. I'll be running the Hitec HS-7954SH. This is my go-to servo, as I feel it gives the most bang for the buck with 403 oz/in of torque at 7.4V. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be tweaking the steering geometry a bit later on, but it's a start (I wanna get this baby out on the rocks). I originally had the servo turned with the arm on the outside, which put it even further out of harm's way, but then the wires were getting rubbed pretty hard by the tire when turning. Since I didn't think ripping the wires out of my servo would be conducive to a good comp score, I opted to flip it as in the photos below:

Got my new Holmes Team Puller 500 Crawl 13t motor in the mail yesterday. Have some 32p gears coming for it; anxious to try it out.
