So, as I was telling in my old shafty topic a large amount of stuff from my old build (Mår Bazhaag) will continue to my sister's rig. She has been driving her rig since 2013 with good old Bender Customs SWX chassis. Now thought, it's finally time to move on.

Before moving on:

Couple of films from last year. This is Sofi's final course performance from Spanish Nationals 2014 where she ended up on 9th position!

And this perfomance is from our team Olympics 2014. Really nice run on repeat bonus course!

But now...

Here is where the work will be started.

Good old bug body will be on top!

Still plenty of grip in these.

First update! What's missing?

Good deal with Holmes Hobbies will bring some great stuff for Sofi to start with!

Three HH 400 33t Pullers. One for shafty and two for the pro.

We had to test it out of course!

Motor quickly assembled. One battery on the garage floor and the difference to the old motor is HUGE!

We had to gather proper Gunnar Body mounts and assemble the body, cause this thing is now flying! Stunning performance from so little motor.

Everything holded up on our little testing session.

Probably will have to do some cutting on the body.

And Sofi still has to do all the basic maintenance before the first comp.

We also have to put on a new front axle from Super Shafty.

Needed little more weight and strenght to the front.

Brassy....

This is a really good point to start the building and preparing Sofi's rigs for our upcoming season which is starting after one month!

We only use the ultra narrows on the rear axles of our rigs. IMHO gives better grip and makes the rear end more narrow. I've fell in love with this set I use. (narrows in front and ultra narrows in rear)

Awesome little motors! They are monster's!
I'm running a 30t myself (right now).. Also have a 33t arm and before I knew it, I was missing the speed of my 13t 500's..
I'm waiting on a custom would 27t skewed 400 puller to show up in the mail right now.. 8o waahahahaha....

Something to maybe look at for future use. I flipped my motor plate to the back and ran my 400 to the front of the El Nino.
Maybe if it clears ur chassis, it would be a way to get motor forward bias..

That "someday" may be sooner then later.. Tho my "old school" BC's still do just fine, Cory!

I was asking in my OG post for a reason.. Cause I like the skinny of the do-overs and Now is the Time, to get ready for spring!

I better get a fresh bottle of glue.. ;)

Time to rebuild this beast once in a year.

The starting point.

Will use the new skid by DravTech.

Yeah, it really needs new one.

Old skid.

New 3D printed.

New Super Shafty front axle with NCD tie rod.

I will continue using the old NCD upper link mount/servo stand.

Sofi rebuild the rear axle.

And the transmission. Some VP grease to make it work like a new one.

I began my work to think about new rear upper link setup.

And also got chance to move the transmission 180 degrees to the other way.

Seems a lot better.

That poor front axle is going to have hard times in the hands of Sofi.

Good steering reamains, from the similiar previous setup.

That's it for this year. Getting back to the garage in 2015.

Some building at the garage!

Some changes with my shafty. I was able to build it a bit myself today. Have to say that it was fun. But all those screws... I almost lost my patience with them. After all I came up with a pretty good result. Have to be proud of myself! And of course it is good to know what my rig is made of Carnage is looking good and I can't wait to get it tested. I just wish that snow would melt asap. It's covering all the rocks! Luckily we've got enough competitions round the year and despite the snow

Softy,
The next time your brother makes a video if you could scream "NICE" in the back ground at every progress that would be hilarious. Hope you have a blast crawling. Keep a close eye on your brother he is one hell of a driver!

Some of the last updates before the comp #1.

Rear link setup and green springs on both sides. What would be the best way to disable torque twist in this kind of setup?

Relocated the gunnar body mount on the rear.

Motor on the place now.

Sanwa receiver now in the shrink.

Ready for test drive number two.

Everything seems to be working. Lets see the weight.

Still not too much, if you consider all the weight in front axle.

And here's a poor picture of the electronics. BR-Mini, CC BEC and Sanwa receiver all in shrinks.

Still little things to do before the comp, but now it's up and running, which is the most important thing.

...unlike my shafty...

First comp of the year behind!

The Arctic Special started with -3 Celcius degrees and slight snowfall.

Sofi anxious to get driving!

The Arctic special setup contains no shock oil and no over-or underdrive gears in axles.

Course three on the way.

The grip seems to be suprisingly good!

And Carnage is working like a dream!

Two more gates and course is finished with only one reverse.

Course four in video. This course was the decider for the success.

First ever victory to Sofi in crawling!

Rig was working excellent and the driving was phenominal!

You might think "Only two drivers, how hard can it be?!" Well to be fair Saku got himself position 12. in last years Worlds, so the rival is a tough one for sure! And tough was the competition also!

It's very good to continue from this in the next comp. It'll take place indoors after six weeks.

Finnish afternoon got dark before we left. Fantastic first annual Arctic Special!

The victory is noted elsewhere too. You can see the pins working on ice and snow as well!
