Hittman's SUDU-One Build

Although the boxer has done great for me, 14 local wins over 10 months of comping, it was time for a change. One of my newest sponsors, DravTech, was kind enough to let me test and drive the Sudu One Fl chassis. This chassis was formerly produced by Tomi at NCD.. It is proven.. But after Tomi decided to take a break, Tobias took the reigns. The chassis' look better than ever, and now they have some sweet printed nylon skids (blue for me of course:mrgreen:)

This chassis is a nice transfer over from the boxer. It is similar, but a little different upper link and shock geometry. Luckily I was able to use most of my existing links with just a few modifications.

With my club on the Christmas/New Years break, it was perfect time for this chassis to arrive and for me to get it going.

Here is my parts list for the build:

Rear foams: Narrowed 5.5" closed cell inner, medium outter, narrowed medium tuning ring

I want to say thank you to all of my bad ass sponsors and Rcc vendors for making a bad ass build like this possible. Even though competition crawling is dying, I still love it. It has been my favorite part of this hobby since I got in it. Everyone who hasn't experienced it, is missing out. Thank you sponsors for fueling my compassion to compete"thumbsup"

Re: Hittman's SUDU-One Build

The Sudu-One Fl is very professionally packaged. I mention it, only because I feel it's something companies over look sometimes. The chassis comes in a nice ziplock bag with a label. All the cf parts, skid, braces, screws, and body mounts are all in separate packages. This chassis even comes with instructions! The chassis was very easy to assemble, although the instructions were nice to refer to.

Here is how the chassis looks all built up

http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...ps72bfdfbe.jpg

Nice that the option to run the dlux sway bar is built right into the chassis!

http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...ps479feaf5.jpg

This skid is nice. This is the first 3d printed item I have ever held. It is very very sturdy for how minimal it is. It feels quite slick too. Definitely more slick than delrin. Gonna have to do some testing to see if it gets my Teflon treatment. And this blue,, very rich. I love it!

http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5ec6e7c0.jpg

Very clean chassis
http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...ps98731f57.jpg

Surprisingly lght considering it has all steel screws"thumbsup"
http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...ps70bee010.jpg

Do I want to mention this carbon fiber. It is different than what I am used to. It has a different finish and slightly different texture. But, I really like it. It seems lighter than regular cf.. And possibly a tad bit stiffer? Dunno.. All I can say is it is amazing. Fit and finish is very nice. The crossbraces are all super high quality. Just an amazing chassis kit!

Re: Hittman's SUDU-One Build

And here is how it looked after I spent some time with the chassis8)

http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...psd4eaaf6a.jpg

This chassis has a very modular design, much like the double agent. And I really like that about it. I run my shocks really wide at the rear axle, so some chassis widening was needed. It is nice to run the rear shocks as wide as I do and not worry about running long screws with huge standoffs.

http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...psb9dfe0f6.jpg

http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...ps936d1910.jpg

Next came the transmission fitting. Was able to use one of the existing holes in the boxer trans, and drill a new one. Mounted without any adapter plate, everything sits nice and low. The brood Sisu fits a little snug, the puller 400 should clear perfectly.

http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...psf6a6244a.jpg

http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...ps274ded0c.jpg

Very easy chasis to assemble and disassemble. Very high quality fit and finish. I couldn't be happier"thumbsup"

Nice and low cg.. Much like the boxer.

You even got the thick spacers from Gunnar mounts mounted + the other "heavy" delrin spacers ;-)

The carbon fibre comes from the same supplier and are the same type as Tomi/NCD used, so the quality is excellent. The only difference is that I ordered the twill weave instead of the plain weave, just because I like the look of twill weave 8)

Thank you Tobias! Glad to join the team.

I am very happy with how this has turned out. Can't wait for the last few finishing touches.

Yessir. They are changed out for aluminum ones ATM, but I definitely need some magic wands on this thing8)

It looked similar, but seemed like the gloss was different. I really like the look and feel. Top notch product sir"thumbsup"

Thank you Samu. Honored to be on the same team as one of the best drivers worldwide!
I can't wait to get some run time in on this chassis and see what it can do.

Second post of the thread is updated. Should have the third one up by the end of tonight.

Re: Hittman's SUDU-One Build

Great to see another SuDu build... Still love this chassis... Maybe I go and talk with Tobias to do some future work on the chassis.. Tomi and I designed it 2 years ago... So I think (now there are really good drivers running this chassis) it's time to get some driver input to improve even more...

Third post finished. Sorry for the shotty pics.. It's not what I wanted, but it was the only way I was going to be able to get some "build" pics.

Very happy with how this rig turned out. Have our first comp of 2015 this upcoming weekend.. Excited to see how it goes. Maybe I'll have a pack or two on the rig before then...:lmao:

Funny story ... I won those at pa qualifier .. Traded them to Troy for regular voodoos ... He had you make him some and traded /sold those to Christian so those tires have been around the block like a cheap hooker

Re: Hittman's SUDU-One Build

Someone needs to clean their wheels :ror: it looks really really slick man! Hope it runs as good as it looks.

Is the skid milled from Teflon? Sounds like an interesting material though i will say that teflon can be a really soft material for all its slipperiness :x
