One thing I must reiterate, this is truly the most advanced rig I've seen. I'm trying to keep the painted lid at 38-40 grams. That would basically make this 4 tires with feathers connecting them. This will be a new driving experience for me. Early last year, I was driving a pro with 9 oz of collective KW

ECC might be easy on it, as it's mono, round, and rolly rock..

Mostly was just my thoughts on it, as that's where I started. The added weight.

Simply for bias and balance..

Skinny her up in the middle, proportion her out correctly in the front and the rear! ;)
Do you have standard, non drilled shifts as spares? I know I'd given you a set and I don't know that I'll need them. Just for piece of mind, will you have 2 new regulars in Alabama?

More variables here. David from France made me the CCC curved links to try out. Don't know if testing will be sporty or pro

This.. This was kinda my thoughts on my post..
But if the front is lessened and not the rear, it's a opposite effect..

If the front is dropped 3oz and the rear is only dropped .5oz.(just throwing numbers out) it will take away from the bias.

Bottom line is simple: I've always used weight. When both my trucks were about 3.3-3.5, an ounce to an ounce and a half was working good ( per side ). One thing I won't do is run a particular amount because someone " says" it's right.

I grew up on the dlux way of thought. 6oz per side type driving. It didn't work well for me. If this, the polar opposite doesn't grab and pull lines, some weight WILL go back on.
Agreed! I've never been much for a lot of knuckle weight. I don't think I own a base weight, that hasn't been cut/lightened.
All that weight seems overkill or to be hiding setup issues?

I like building a rig, driving it, tuning it, etc, without knuck weight.
Adjust geo to crawl correctly, then add weight to fit my style, wants, and needs..

Non modded.. Like the shaft hole being bigger?
I believe I'm all down to 4mm.. Until I drill out the new set, for my super.

But I'll have spare wheels, that have Shift hubs on them, at ECC..

Ok, I need some bone stock ones and it's too late to order. I may not need them. My slw's are rubbing by weight holders a bit on the sporty. If I can get them to work, I'm good. Yes, I have ones drilled for 6mm. My rears are 5mm. I hope I don't have to mod the 2 stock ones for those. We will see. 4mm shifts would be fine if I'm jammed up. Thanks

They might be 5mm? Whatever stock size is, straight from BC-Brian.

I'm willing to bet, Brian would get them out and you would have them by Tuesday. Even if he shipped them tomm.

You are both talking about the same thing.... There is a 4 and a 5mm section on the inside to fit stock Axial axles. David has ones bored for 6mm axles and needs original ones.

Changed my mind. Wanted something different. A lot of fat removal to be done and shaping as well but I'm getting closer...

Ok, all trimmed and ready for the rocks. Wheels and tires are next and it! I'll be hoping to get finished pics up by day's end.

I have an xciter cut and ready for paint but I owe some buds paint jobs first. I've never tried the beetle and have a big comp coming up next week. If I don't like it in Alabama, I'll start working on the xciter ASAP.

Additional trimming. A full size beetle is more like a bear to trim and tech at the same time. I have a 1" flimsy piece that touches the drag in few situations. Beyond that, it's all freed up

Full ride hight

Compressed

Very happy with how she turned out. 10-3/4 up front and 10-1/4 out back. EYD voodovers for rubber and I'm waiting for my new wheels from CCC to finish her off

This truck really impressed me this weekend. It was its first scratches and I was thrilled with its performance. As usual, I could have driven better but the rig was sound! Is like to thank CCC, creation fab and EYD for their continued support! I'd also like to thank beest and Barry B for the tuning help! What a killer weekend!
