Hmmm.. Long time, no post.. The little Ringer that could.. Had made it to Nevada and back.. Where Fishmax, manned the wheel.. Dam did the rig make his "skills" look good! Lol. But it was back in the hand's of Aiden, last weekend, for Crawltoberfest.. A fun comp, to end the season.. He was a little rusty, to start the day, with class 2.. But he knocked some of that off for comp crawling.. The day ran longer then thought, for scale.. So we only ran Pro/Mod class.. Which Aiden ran his truck in. The little guy got 3rd place in Pro, with his sporty! (I won't mention how many guys ended up running) None the less, is a confidence builder and hopefully keeps him hooked! Maybe even some drive, to drive... |

Finally! Aiden got to run his own rig! Lol.. With Chris taking his son out and prepping for the coming year, on top of it being 64° out, I thought it a good time to get some gates in. So off to the bridge we went.. Tossed some gates out and just let him drive. A little follow the leader.. (Until I got sick of following and went off the beaten path) Then I let him drive the last gate, his way.. Which didn't go so hot! Lol.. So after a little instruction and a idea of the way to work the steering... Hook that tire left.. With steady throttle, turn right.. And blip the throttle! Clean the gate.. Some laughs where had and hopefully he retains just a touch of Anything he learned today! Ha ha ha... Maybe a couple packs tomm |

What no DesTroy plate for little Winner! That's just wrong. Great job Troy. The hardest part for me is keeping mouth shut and letting Anthony drive. I figured the best lessons learned are the ones he figures out himself. I do coach a lot tho. Mainly when he's on his lid and getting frustrated. In my opinion the best coaching is encouraging him to try again and again and not try the same thing over and over. It awesome that our boys are both running ringers! |

The MX-V is Great! Like a DX3C with the feel of a MT4.. He's getting ready to step up to a MT4 tho.. (My current one) My 6yr old daughter is going to need the MX-V for her mini.. I guess I'm going to have to switch to the MT4s...

Very nice to get your children involved in RC and crawling! Always loved my Airtronics radios back in racing days, are they really that good today too?

I do a little traveling, to get to comp and see different groups The East coast is 90%(?) MT4.. No matter the percentage, it's Way more then Any other radio! I don't feel it's just the East coast either. It's too the west coast and international..

Maybe the outbreak didn't reach the North West, yet! ;) Start handing that remote over, at comps! Lol.. A cheaper priced RX would be nice.. Atleast for the scale rigs or my 6yr old daughter's mini.. They would have to prove themselves of defect, before ever going in one of my comp rigs tho! Not that I think 45-50$ for a RX is horrible.. It took me some time to get my full fleet switched over tho.. |

I would have to have a case of those. I would have to agree with you on that I've got a few rigs that is worth the 50 to run them. Last edited by snapon boy; 11-17-2015 at 09:13 PM. |

Pretty much everybody in our club runs Futaba with the exception of one or 2 hobbyking radios... I've never tried the MT-4 but I love the feel of my 4PKS and how it works... Just what I'm used to

Troy I think you mean it's 90% Futaba. Lol. I love my mt-4. Second one I've owned and wouldn't own another radio other than airtronics.

Guys, this wasn't a debate or a vote.. Just a simple statement of experience.. Maybe traveling to 6+ states and comping with 10+ clubs, this year(not including World's), doesn't give me enough of a view.. I'll try to broaden that out some, next year.. ;) Ppl that have been in, run futaba.. It's all there use to be, all that was advertised.. Or ppl stay with it cause they are too vested in it.. (too many rigs to switch over) New ppl coming in, have a choice... Smart ones, Choose Airtronics! ;) |

We are working 7 days a week, 12hr days, for atleast the next 2 weeks straight. Up to the next 6 weeks, possibly" "Cool. When do we start?" (Me) "Tomm morning at 7a.m.".. Ugh....... "OK, see you in the morning".. So here it is Thurs and raining.. Still here "working".. But sitting in my car the whole shift.. But I spent my morning playing! Lol.. It gave me something to do till about noon, atleast..

When we where out crawling, Aiden said, "it's not turning left so great".. Then I realized the major issue, the one servo mount was loose, and told him to keep crawling.. So I brought most of what was needed for hooking him up.. It looked like this.. A "little" loose.. Lol.. I also noticed the tire running the servo.. Which caused another issue.. The Fix... His very own desTroy plate! A few screws later and the canvas is prepped for a new look. Now, sitting in the car, doesn't leave much room or power, for a dremel.. But I have nothing but time! I knew I carried my SOG powerlock for a reason.. All mounted and ready for the servo.. Something I noticed with this.. The HH servo and the 7950 is the same size, but different placement of the ears.. While the 7950 would need a littler added work, on the tube side, to sit down like my EVO. The HH servo is good to go.. Before mounting, I had to deal with the wires.. It was a "open and shut" case.. Lol.. With the wires tucked inside the empty space of the case, it was time to continue mounting.. While at it, I mounted the ESC/bec Smash, as well Nice and clean, even from the bottom. One thing I noticed while I was doing the desTroy plate swap... There isn't a single screw holding the C's on!!!!! There isn't even holes drilled to put screws in! Ooops... Mounted the axle . And the clearance issue and the loose servo mount issue.. All taken care of and to never be worried about again! Things to finish/do at home.. Axial offset link ends, on the front shocks.. Not that there "Needed".. But it's how I like doing it.. And a drag link.. Then he's all set for us to get out and hit the rocks! |
