| Intro and motor question
New to crawling and this forum but not to RCing. I have been RCing since the 80s off and on. I currently have just gotten back into the sport thru my son who just got into the sport. We both crawl with a SCX10 for my son and I have a AX10 myself. It is mostly stock with a few mods. My motor question is I did mirrored the tranny and put a Orion 19Tx2 motor on the car. I just would like to know what the 19Tx2 means. This is a great forum with very good information.

Lots of views but no reply. 19T means there are 19 turns of wire around the armature. 19T X2 means there are two separate windings of wire, each 19 turns around the armature. You can either fill the armature with 19 turns of big wire or with two separate ones of smaller wire. They would both be 19 turn motors but they would have different torque and power caracteristics. Radioflyer, please explain... 2x19T. Can that be compared to a 38T? Or am i looking at it too simple now?

| Re: Intro and motor question A 19 turn motor is still pretty fast. Stock brushed motors were 27 turn. Is it a fairly old motor? Maybe the magnets have gotten weaker with age and the motor is much tamer than it used to be when new. I found that even a 27 turn motor in my son's SCX10 was a bit too much for crawling. If you want to have more control try a motor with a higher wind. You'll lose wheel speed but you'll have much greater control. Sean |

For right now the type of crawling I am doing this motor is working just fine. I have good speed high and low. With the 2.2's it crawlers well. I do have a 55T if I want more torque.

The difference between a 27T and 55T is huge! A 27t will rev' at ± 18000rpm. A 55T at ± 8000. My advice? Try a 35T. Most 35's rev at 12500, except for the Novak Terra claw. Which rev's 13000 and still has 35 torque values.
