Crackhead it's all about that CC fabrication these days. At least until this man finds another evil laboratory!

I can finally see what I have been picturing in my head for some time now!

As you can see I got the lower links mounted and borrowed the shocks from my Mini Super too be able to fab the upper links out of CF rod tomorrow.

So hopefully I'll have the upper links, tie rod and drag link made tomorrow. I'm going to attempt making all these out of CF not sure it will work or be strong enough, but we will see!

I also got my Voodoo's in from Everett at EY Designs and I must say he does a rather good job at narrowing tires. Very clean worky friend!

I can't wait to see how these 1/2 gold 1/2 silver dot tires preform.

I finally got a chance to. work on my rig tonight. I put the axles in Crackhead's jig too measure some links.

This jig is awesome! Very simple and guarantees that I have a 12 3/8 wheel base.

Then I made a link jig to ensure that they would be perfect length.

After I assembled everything.

With tires.

Mandatory flex shoot!

Projected steering.

The more this crawler comes together the more I'm in love with it!

I am sure the love will continue when you bring it out on the rocks

I am glad that you were able to figure it out. I took pictures for an assembly guide last night that I hope to be able to post up soon.

Great build so far! Sometimes it is quite nice and relaxing just to bolt something together without fabricating a lot by yourself

Thank you Sir! This is probably the cleanest built I've done so far!

One thing to check make sure all your pins are facing the same way... In this picture the pins are facing the opposite way...

I'd put silver outside front and rear... Better sidewall support and if you're going to put golds on outside you might have we'll have just gone golds both sides for the front.... But your call

I got a few hours in today to work on the SuDu. Installed the CF links that I epoxied the rod ends on a couple days ago. I also mounted the servo on the DesTroy plate I got from winner.

The DesTroy plate is a love hate thing for me. I love the fact the servo is lower and I love that my steering geometry is more proper than having the servo horn vertical. What I hate about it is I want the servo lower and the drag link angle less. I've racked my brain trying but what you see is the best I could come up with. Too get the servo lower meant shaving more of the housing away than I have was comfortable with and too get the angle better meant less steering. All and all I'm happy I have the DesTroy plate and can't wait to test it out. I still have to mount my spacer under between the plate and to the axle. I feel this will be needed to keep the plate stiff under load from the servo.

I got my 8° weight holders installed. I had to shave a bit of material away to get the clearance off the wheels I needed to keep them from scrubbing.

I got my axles finished with gears installed. I was originally going to use BlueMonkeyRC 300M spools but after a very long wait and a product that required me to shave off some of my rear axle shaft so the lockout would fit properly I decided to go with some GripFab SS spool. Which are lighter!

Last and probably what I'm most excited about, is while doing some snooping I found that the 2016 RCCA rules changed on what size bodies can be ran! According to what I read a body that is 8" long × 3" wide in the middle × 3" tall is legal. So this is what I'm using!

I have a lot of work left but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I got my front axle situated more tonight with lowering my servo more. I had to shave my housing and some of the Rcbros collar that comes with the burly tube.

I also drilled and tapped extra holes to hold my burly tubes in and made a spacer for my DesTroy plate. All I have to do is clearance my unis and finial assembly. Here's what I got.

Got the uni's shaved down yesterday and assembled the truck last night to make sure I was happy with everything.

I will be wiring it tonight and hopefully drilling and pinning the links, tie rod and drag link.

Thank you for the kind words! This crawler is on the expensive side but I knew it was going to be and I saved up before starting plus some of the cost you might have read about is cause I bought extra stuff, like the front plate I bought 2 of them an Rcbros plate and a DesTroy plate cause I wanted to have a backup just in case I didn't like something about either one. I did this with knuckles and other things as well! Gets expensive after a few items.

Well she's a RTR! I'm on the fence about my wiring job but I did the best I could and I hope my receiver is in a good spot. I've ran one in that location before but had a bigger body so we will see.

I painted a lid kinda quickly and its definitely not my best but for a lid I've had for very long time and lost all the window decals I'm okay with it.

As you can see my paint bleed through the tape in areas but whatever. I'm going to glue my tires tonight and go beat that bad paint on some rocks tomorrow!

Had some fairly promising results on my little test boulder at my house! Charging some batteries and I'll be beating it on some rocks at Sam Lewis before long! Family Comp today with my son and his Atom Ant!!!!

Oh and I stacked as much weight as I could on the front for now, just to see. 1 full .25 ring on the front of the knuckle and 1 half ring .25 on the back side. Total of 2.1oz per side. If I need more than that its going to be a challenge or a compromise of having 8° weights hanging out just behind the tire.
