I started with a Creeper..

It doesn't matter what we start with, as long as we get a start!

So what was your review of the protek 170t? Also vs the holmes vs the 7950?

Good question..
Short answer, I sold the 170t.. Lol..

Money to performance(at cost of new), HH..

A 7950 is hard to beat, no matter how you look at it..
With HH covering customer service, HH and Hitec are top notch!

As for actually thoughts on performance..
I really felt like the 170t was lacking on there quoted 630oz, or whatever it is..
It was quick steering, but only when it didn't have a major obstacle to over come..
It also felt like it was too "refined".. Like, your pushed into a rock, at full lock. A 7950 is too "dumb" to realize it's "beat".. It just keeps trying to steer out of it/push back! Will fight till it burns itself out..

The 170t would rather "give up, to fight another day".. Like a over loaded protection..
Which isn't a good quality in a crawler servo. IMO..

I can say the same for the HH servo. It's a "fighter"..
I can't speak to full "dramatics" of it, like I can a 7950/80, without the years of experience behind it, but it's in my sporty and I don't see me changing it out, till it "gives up the fight"..

So, a 7950 or a HH HV500 @8.2v is just as effective, if not more, then a 170t @7.4v.. (170t is Weaker, at higher voltage) (again, back to the "too refined")
I will be staying with the tried and true and keeping a 50 or 500 in my rigs!

Awesome, thanks brother....... ran the 7954 for years on my class 3 rig front and rear...... finally burned em up pretty bad. Went with 1230 savox and even 1270 and seem to create heat and burn up motors just sitting due to resolution and constant buzsing on motors. I've seen temps from 146 deg all the way up to about 168 deg during the run of a 1300 mah on a 8 lb rig. Pretty dis satisfied with results from the savox on a rig with 2.2 tires, 8 lbs and not always in motion (have found that when rig is constantly moving there is really less strain on servo and heat stays lower). Also seen high temp just from rig sitting, about 120 deg with zero motion. Just needing a servo to get me back to where this rig used to be moving rocks etc etc. Lol

I'm running dlux g10 sporty trusses so the angles and mouth etc etc are not hindering me in any way....... so out of the 7950 and the holmes what would you say?

Wish I could fit the 7980 in and dump dlux gears on it and just make it stupid but I'm sure servo will hang doen further and create more issues.

That savox was supposed to be up where the 7950 was but I'm really doubting it was ever close tq wise

Right off the bat..
S@vo# and Hitec don't even belong in the same sentence, let alone used as a viable option to compare.. IMO.. Lol..

A 80 with Dlux strengtheners would be Crazy!!!
I've thought about a 80 in my Sexo w/ a Dinky S mount, but never felt like doing the clearancing, to fit it. Not that it's much..

But I have been running the same 50 in my Sexo for 2yrs or so..

Steering setup is similar to a Dlux truss. Meaning the rotation and force on the servo from the drag link.

I run it with a HH Puller Pro 3500kv XL on 4s.(now) was a 3500kv HD.. Still 4s..
It's been taking the abuse since.
No Mercy!!!

I haven't had a chance to test the HH servo or gears like that, since they just came out.

So I can only speak from experience.

Right on........ again thanks brother. Yea never been too happy with savox in the past. On my race rigs always was good results but when getting them bound or stalled always an issue. I've got the type s trusses too sitting on the side. Used to run on my wroncho based class 3....... went to dlux for more clearance....... now rig is getting re fit to a new chassis and get away from a frame....... I end up with a lot of parts all the time. Hahahaha.

I'm on 4s also...... been for a while and drive like an idiot....... 4s and 30t brood onslaught. ..... smh.

Well I'll flip a coin on the holmes vs 7950.

Still don't miss the 170t..

As for the Holmes servo, it's not going anywhere!
I've put a pretty good thrashing on it lately and it's taking it all!

Since they are back in stock, I'll be grabbing a couple more!

PM for HH orders (anyone that wants)

OK Sic1o's win enjoyment is over! Lol..

We had a EPA comp this past weekend..

The EVO Killed it! Making 2 wins for the BmachineRC EVO, this weekend!

The first course was on the cut-n-shut 1.9 Rock Beast's..
While they don't hook up like a full fledged comp tire, they still put in some Work!
Buuuutttt.. I wanted to test them against the do-over's, so I switched for course 2-3..

Course 2 was simply a blast! Just the difference between the 2 tires, made for a good amount of enjoyment...

Course 3 had a couple repo's, fully the driver's fault/screw ups.. Still finished, Barely!

At the end of the day.. A 1st place win!

It's been a busy few weeks, getting ready for the, RI Monster Showdown..
Which lead up to a busy weekend..

A solid weekend for my sponsor's..
BmachineRC, Holmes Hobbies, Krazed Builds, and PURPMART.
Also a true test to Dlux parts and the new FBA shafts! Not a single issue with anything!!!

Time to show off some of that money!!! Dlux style!

A little pre mount, just to give it all a look..

Now for mounted..

2 tungsten weights will be coming out.. the knuckles and 3 weights, will be 8-10 grams heavier, then what I have been running. I want to test and check, just how much the lower weight helps.

Wheel centers built..

More soon..
CT comp this weekend and ECC next weekend..

Lmfao!!! I specifically DID hide them from You! Baahahahaha...

They aren't mounted. They are just there..
Have to get the wheels on, check my width, then mount the weights.
