Like mentioned.. No one stirs the pot on it..
It's like any other debate.. It's an opinion. Normally based off of experience..
I've seen more cons to ar60's and more ppl switch from them... Buuutttttt...

That's cause it's what I'm looking for.

I don't see the same cons in the scx-xr axle, cause I run them and don't want to see them..
All about perspective.

There's no, right or wrong, there's only, Build and Crawl!

Ar60 or Scx Xr??? Well let me tell you I've built both... I say the only thing about the Ar60 limits is your fab skill. I've built a set on dlux knuckles that had adjustability just as the Scx Xr did. I also shaved the pumpkin and had the bevel gear or ring gear turned down and had better ground clearance over a scx setup. Not to mention the much better servo setup that is much lower but also puts the servo horn in the proper alignment for correct steering geometry. My buddy crackheads ugly Betty build is another example of how to setup an Ar60 to be narrow by removing 6mm off each side of the tubes. In short bad to the bone Ar60's aren't bolt together.

Scx Xr axles.... Well they are awesome cause you can buy everything and build nothing just mod unis for smooth steering.... bolt stuff together. cons for me are steering setup. I hate the servo placements on these axles! Even using a DesTroy plate to get proper steering geometry is just not making me happy. Don't get me wrong its a good setup but I don't like the drag link angles and having the drag link on spacers to get it straight. In short the con's are preference with this axle but the pros are simply the fact that I slapped this axle together with off the shelf part's!

my last trans i just got the short shaft for like 6 bucks on amazon because i had all the other parts. I picked up an scx trans on the classifieds and dont have the extra parts so i will probably get the locked up RC kit (its the only one i know of) because it comes with all the parts needed.

You guys and your AR60 vs SCX XR axle debates are funny... Everybody knows I have the best axles all the benefits of both axles packed into one...

Every SCX10 kit comes with a slipper eliminator. It's nylon, same as the rest of the parts, but it works fine for a shafty. My other SuckerPunch uses one and the last thing you want sitting up high is a heavy piece of metal. Look for part number AX80009 Transmission Set, number 6 on the parts tree.

AMain Hobbies part #AXI30197 (Axial's part number AX30197)
Don't get fooled by the description as they obviously had a brain fart when they put it up.
Comes as a pair.

If you don't care about weight, Robinson Racing steel gearset. If you are concerned with weight, HR alum gearset.

I got a set of lightened steel gears from hot racing. They held up well. I've read good reviews on the aluminum ones from them also.

i guess since its page two its time for a picture. This is what i have so far, i have a bunch of stuff on the way. Only thing that has changed with the axles is i have a holmes spool in the rear and the vp locker is now in the front (figured it would help with the weight transition). Picked up an axial trans loaded with metal gears on the classifieds, traded those dumb king shocks for some axial icons and got some jato ends for the rear upper links so i have a usable pinion angle. (at the bottom of the picture is 2 of the upper links, one with long ends and one with normal).

really excited to have pictures of the chassis, its super top secret and im trying really hard not to ruin it.
