To add a post of some substance.....

With how long the wheelbase is, i have been wondering if wraith drive shafts will be long enough. I heard from a little birdie i will be getting the gmade crabon steel wraith shafts.

When they dont fit, no freaking out and selling everything...... so put your paypal away.

I was thinking i could shorten the wheelbase by trimming some threads off the links and shortening the rod ends so i can seat them down further.... i should be able to shorten by a half inch if i do it to front and rear lowers. Any input before i try it and destroy brand new vp ti links?

I am going to wait until i verify whether the drive shafts fit or not or course, but if i had to do it would it be a decent idea?

I've got lost of the new plastic wild bore HD shafts and several of the others. If you can get the metal one to work up front I'll hook you up from the back shaft. What motor and esc are you going to use?

Wraith wheelbase is about 14", but the tranny also has an extended rear output shaft. Your wheelbase can't be that long....is it?

Its appreciated!

I put the gmade/junfac drive shafts in and for the first time it has non binding drive shafts!

That being said, i think the rear is at the max of its "working length", i have a feeling once i put some power to it, its going to come apart. Guess i will find out soon enough haha.

pictures later.

jumped in with both feet yesterday and paid for motor, esc and bec.... plans are for a 16t puller

I am about 80 percent certain when i put power to the rear driveshaft its going to blow apart. I guess ill get a set of mip and run one in the rear and have a spare and then have a spare for the front gmade shaft. Gmade does make a longer drive shaft but i dont have much faith in what i have now so i would rather get something that will give me some piece of mind. I also thought about maybe just getting an extended output but i feel like that would put unneeded strain on the transmission.

At this point im not completely sure what i NEED to prepare for puller power. The simple answer is to just get the best of everything, at the same time i just want to get a working rig. I still need to buy a tx/rx, batteries and a charger

This is what i have the motor attatched to, would love some pointers on how to make it not turn into a yardsale the first time i give it full throttle.

rear has a spool with 43/13 gears and front has stock axial 38/13 on a vp locker
drive shafts are gmade/junfac wraith drive shafts
trans is a stock housing with all steel gears and locked up slipper eliminator kit
stock motorplate
Stock plastic spur

I just got my glasses. Your list of parts sounds good I would not go crazy changing stuff just that one shaft.

Besides the short driveshaft you should be good with the parts you have, I wouldnt worry about it if it were me. Get it running and have fun!

well that calms my worries quite a bit.

How concerned should i be with the gears in the front axle? Will they last a bit or should I not even bother?

They should last awhile, when they do go out if you put the over drive gears in you'll be able to turn even sharper than the stock ratio. Good upgrade whenever you do it.

The rear is geared lower as is right now, is the difference not enough to get that effect?

Thanks for the advice
