Adding a sporty to the heard

The time has finally come for me to build a sporty. Starting out with some Creation Fab AX10/XR10 hybrid axle housings.
I will be pairing these axles with a suckerpunch chassis.
Hitec 7950th
Castle Mamba Max Pro
HH Crawlmaster Pro 16t

Now for the pictures.

Just getting started.

Nice start. You will like those creation fab tubes. The fit and finish on them is top notch."thumbsup"

Thanks Stuck. Everything seems to be going together pretty well. Front axle nearing completion.

haha...I was wondering who would say something about that after looking at the picture. My thumb bends really far back at the knuckle. Thumb is perfectly fine though. "thumbsup"

It is a Max because I just had it laying around...but by the time I get to putting and ESC in, I am sure it won't be that ESC. I will be putting something smaller in but that's just what was on the pile for now.

Re: Adding a sporty to the heard

As I am sitting here spinning the front axle compared to the back axle, it seems like the front takes quite a bit more force to get the Universals to rotate. Anyone with these axles know why that might be and what to do to fix it?

(Cause I moved it, ya thumb weirdo)

Loosen up some screws and see if it spins better.

I had similar problem .... found if the 4 screws around the gears are too tight it warps the case and binds the ring and pinion.

Other thing was 6mm screws through the case and into the tubes hit the axles in some spots. That was my problem. Backed them out a little and things were better.

Easy enough to pull the axles out and see if theres any silver areas from the screws rubbing them.

Perfect. I did back them out a little bit last night as I was building and it did help some. I will try to back them out a little more and see if that helps. "thumbsup"

any updates on this? what body do you plan running?

Re: Adding a sporty to the heard

No updates yet. I've been busy working 11 and 12 hour days the past couple weeks. I'm a teacher and I have spring break this upcoming week so I'm going to work on it a few days hopefully.

I plan to run an xciter body that I'm going to try painting myself. We will see how that goes.

Also picked up a br mini esc and a hh 16t Crawlmaster motor. Waiting on those things to complete the electronics.

Updates this week as long as I have some time...also helping my fiancé move so we will see how much time I actually get.

Already done. ;)

Didn't put it in with the other electronics because I thought these were sort of a given by now.
