| Zero Ackermann Steering Options?
I don't like the Ackermann effect on my AX10. Cause i think it don't work well with an locked Diff. Is there an cheep mod for it? I found several options for the scx10, which is ok i think, cause it's the same axle. Or do i overlook something? I found the following available options: , ,(SSD00170) by SSD Pro Steering Conversion Kit or for Axial SCX10 #VPS02862, ,(VPS02862) by Vanquish Aluminum 8 Degree C-Hubs Clear Anodized for Axial SCX10 AX10 Honcho Dingo #VPS02856, ,(VPS02856) by Vanquish Aluminum 8 Degree Knuckles Grey Which steering link length is needed for the vanquish setup? can't find the vanquish zero ackermann knuckles on stock (discontiniued?) The other replacement Knuckles i found from strc, gpm... looks like the og with ackermann. Is it a problem to have ackermann effect in the rear and zero ackermann in the front using 4ws? Cause i would move the front setup to the rear then. Another option i have is to change to ar60 axles front rear. If they fit . Would this be better and what benefits would bring these. Thanks for your opinions. |

The most important info, for us to help you, is.... What are you trying to do with your Crawler? Is it for fun? Comp crawling? Do you want performance gains, that are noticable? Do you want to spend money one time or twice? Do you have needed knuckle weights? Do you want 8° or non 8°? Since it seems like you are starting from scratch, with a stock axle... Your cheapest knuckle, that will give you zero ackerman, better steering, knuckle weight, 8° and non 8° options, that can come with a tie rod, and gives you the option of C's, is.. Dlux V2 knuckles, in brass.. You can use them with the stock C's or wraith/XR knuckles.. The catch to this is.. doing the XR width mod, to your axle and running XR Universal's. I'm pretty sure, Dlux has everything you need @ Dluxfab.com or send him a PM. Stay away from strc, integy, gpm, and similar junk... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk |

I do it for fun as first, maybe later sometimes i will go to comps. Of cause i will gain performance, but i started without xrmod and i have weighted tires and bras beeftubes in the axles. So i want to avoid the XRMod, but if it's nessesary .... the weight balance is 60% front 40% rear right now. So i'm not in the need for knuckle weights but how knows what comes And i want spend money once. I will have a closer look to the dlux knuckles. Which are the benefits of 8° or not? | |

Thx also. had a look on the dlux knuckles, wow many options but i think for a just 4 fun crawler it's a little to expensive ... to go to comps in my sight i have to do a complete comp build. So little betty is just 4 fun ... I want to gain just a little better steering eliminating the ackermann effect and try 4ws Last edited by magic_yeti; 04-18-2017 at 05:43 AM. |

You may want to take a look at the "crawlster steering systems" as well: https://www.crawlster.de/ They seem very well engineered and executed. |

cheaper is not always better...thats where the spending money once or twice comes in. those options look nice but i have learned from experience, thank you integy, that you pay for what you get. hope that works out for you and good luck!!! |
