Default Revo throw arms for ax-10.

I saw a picture recently of someone who has used the revo throw arms on their rig. Anyone have any thoughts? I think they could be a space saving option for me since the front of my rig does not get full articulation. I know piggyback shocks aren't the best for crawling but it was the longest pair I had. The problem with them is that the shock body hits the chassis long before I get full travel (see second pic). If I decide to do it I will post up pics for y'all.

What's the goal here? You clearly need different shocks.

Have you tried mounting them upside down? I guess even if they do get in the way of the BTA steering link, you could use some longer rod ends or even a small spacer on the rod end you have..

Spend the money on a set of SCX shocks and be done with it. At the end it will be much cheaper than any other solution

New shocks were on the agenda anyways. I just used those since I was out of dough when I built it and never went back to it. The goal i guess is to get my articulation fixed and possibly do somthing unique in the process. The issuer I'm trying to fix is the limited articulation. I might try flipping them tomorrow. I need a stiffer servo mound so I may be able to make somthing work. I will also try the rear yeti shocks since they are smaller in diameter and are much longer.

Oh the other thing I thought about doing is cutting off the reservoir and sealing the hole with epoxy since they are nice shocks IMO. I may grab one off my dad's summit and mock it up to see how it might work.

Fixing your articulation? Let me guess you don't think you have enough and you love flex Fridays on Facebook too...

No actually. (I dont have a FB account)By fixing I just mean eliminating binding. I want it so that it won't bind so that i know the max and then from there I can tune it back to my liking. I was thinking it had a little too much since the tires keep falling and getting stuck in holes. I read that one tire height is ideal which is about what I have now.

I am taking my rig camping tomorrow so no experimentation until the weekend.

One tire height is a good maximum. If that is what you have now then what's the point of using revo rockers?

It'd be a fun and unique challenge. And if it really didn't work then oh well!

So I flipped the shocks and Presto! Just what I wanted. Idk why I never thought to do that before. Since I did the cap mod the reservoir won't bug the steering link. The only itsy bitsy issue which really isn't one is that the reservoir is below the link.

I will probably mock up the rocker anyways just to see what it would look like.

If you insist on staying with these shocks at least cut the reservoir off. it does nothing any way.

BTW what on earth is that chain for?

Oh the chain? Ha, I put it on there so that i can assist my dad on tough climbs. So a tow cable.

Ok if i notice issues with the reservoir I will chop it off such as hanging up or binding. I have not run it yet so we'll see how it does.

After further inspection of the proposed setup, I decided to scrap it. There was going to be just way too much custom work. I love doing custon stuff but reward I get out of this is not worth it.
