Just giving E a hard time. He could at least put a bomber interior on it.

Doesn't the panhard bars earn scale points?

This is an interesting build, may the Panhard bars are because of a very custom drive shaft.

If it's G10, how hard is that stuff on your tools?

Is it a lot easier to work than Carbon fiber?
G10 is not easy on tools but it sure is not hard, not like CF at all when it comes to cutting. I much prefer to work with G10 over CF.

Yeah, I dont see any reason it wont be at the shootout.

I wish I could just kill FB and come back here.... This is such a more comfortable place to be and all the people who are here are people who enjoy RC. You dont get the random douche who is just talking shit like FB.

I would bash RCcrawler since it does not get views and traffic but this build has way more views now that I would have guessed it would have when it was done. Maybe there is hope?

I know better than to open this can of worms but why do you guys think this is even scale? I dont see how its anymore scale than my MOA other than the body that will have to go on it?

Even back then I was a funny guy! LOL. I dont remember that but sounds like something I would say.

Surprised that you did not move the panhard mount on the axle all the way out to the wheel. The longer it is, the less it deflects through the cycle. Very good looking parts.
The Panhard is all the way out on the axle. In fact, the front will need to be moved in as it does not clear the wheel at full lock. The rear is correct as seen in the pictures and the front will match that. I could take the rear wider but I want them to be the same front and rear.

I would love if this car just got me in the door to a scale event.

All links are done and axles are now attached to the chassis.

Just thinking out loud but couldn’t you have had your front punks on the opposite side with high pinion then used the same pan hard mount front and rear sense the cheez outputs are on opposite sides?

Yeah, you can put the pumpkin on any side you want. I wanted both to be on the same side though. Pros and cons to each setup for sure.

Either way it’s turning out bad a$$ for sure. Can’t wait to see how many more awesome ideas come out on this rig and hopefully on sale

I'm just poking fun because you love scale rigs so much. Maybe with some large1.9 tires, scale driver , ice chest, jack and lightweight lexan Truck Body. You'd just skirt by for scale competitions.

Honestly though this rig is really interesting and I'm glad to see a comp rig build thread.

You know I scale... or is a Yeti not scale? LOL. That Yeti is going thru some changes and some fun stuff is about to come out of that thing too!

Since everybody is interested in the height of the panhards, here are some pictures. They are pretty close to perfect at mid travel. There is almost no side to side action. I need to measure how much there is though, I would be interested.

Jeremy Keyes has already commented on my sweatshirt. You can comment too but please understand that I am poor. I need more orders thru the site to pay for a new sweatshirt. Thats right after I buy my starving kids some raw potatoes for breakfast. The price of potatoes has sure gone up, huh?

We appreciate sacrifice made in order to give that killer coupon code for the Savox 2290 servo! I’m sure without it, you could have bought a few sweatshirts.

It's a nice setup.... but it does raise your roll center quite a bit.... on a triangulated 4 link, with the links above the axle housing and centered on the housing, your roll center height will be right above the axle. With a panhard setup like this, your roll center is the center point between the mounts, so quite a bit higher.

A setup where the lower arms are triangulated by mounting wide on the axle and centered together on the chassis, your roll center is going to nice and low, where the links are mounted on the axle tube (unless the uppers are triangulated as well).... lowering it even more.

A watts link does an awesome job of establishing a low roll center AND completely eliminating side to side shifting of the housing the way a panhard does as it cycles through it's arc, but they are impossible to use on a high travel setup.

Lowering the roll center does a lot to stabilize a rig. Photo below shows a setup that uses lower triangulated solid steel 7075 bars and parallel 4130 boxed uppers that the shocks mount on (opposite most setups), which allow the lower links to set the roll center. having double triangulated setups in theory would put the roll center in between the two if angles were identical.

I think without the panhard bar, the rear axle would still move side to side without a fourth upper link, so this means all your side to side force is still going to be against the panhard bar chasis mount.... meaning that the center of the panhard bar would be your roll center. If you remove the panhard bar does the axle move side to side with the three link setup?

Sorry about the book... I just geek out on suspension design but my experience is in 1:1 stuff, not rc...... I like seeing people think outside the box and will watch this with interest.
