I am fine with the driveshafts for now. I will run them and probably come back to revisit with something else.

I did learn a lot on my last build and doing my own driveshafts. They turned out super cool but I went for tight tolerances which was a mistake. I like my driveshafts super sloppy so they dont restrict the travel at all. JunFac shafts provide perfect slop. LOL

I made a couple of complex electronic mounts and then took a step back to look at what I was doing. I figure I could mount my electronics hung from the chassis or I can make a plate off the axle. Either way, it puts them in the same exact spot only the extra plate adds weight. I decided to just hang them from the chassis.

I wonder if I could just couple up on that lower universal and get enough angle? I was going about it the other way trying to get more angle out of the dog bone.

Ish be tight for sure. I really cant take much credit though. I have no idea how I did it but as tight as this space is, it pretty much just fell into my lap. In fact, this whole car is turning out that way. Not much is fighting me and its all turning out exactly how I want, which is really strange.

She be running and driving...!

I only drove it on my concrete shop floor but it feels VERY odd. I am not sure how to explain it. I am also getting a lot of jacking when steering. We will see how it goes on the rocks though.

Wow, tighter than a clam with lockjaw... but magnificent!

Looks like you've dug those tires out from way in the back corner with those spider webs.

Chassis jacking? Both directions?

If thats it then its a product of KIA but workable to get to a minimum, shock and link geometry plays into it as well.

Just driving it around the shop. The shop could stand to be cleaned I guess? LOL

Just in one direction. I am not really concerned about how the car acts on flat ground concrete though. I will wait for the rocks.

These style of driveshafts are horrible to setup and on this build, its just not going to work due to the angles. Too bad. Maybe in hindsight I would have moved the diffs to the passenger and run a centered axle.... nah! LOL

Anyway, I decided to make my life easy and I got Fac'd instead.

If anybody else wants these, I actually ordered a bunch of parts to make these happen. They sure would be a sweet setup if you had better angles to work with.

What are the advantages to the dog bones? What would they cost? I’m trying to make a decision on drivelines right now and some input would be greatly appreciated

I made these body mounts but I am not too stoked on them. I will refine these later.

I just took some Delrin tube and sleeved it over the top of my aluminum braces. This way I can use those wire clamps and use the plastic threaded rod. I dont know if that made any sense. LOL

Small, lightweight and strong. They also slip super easy so they have very little resistance and that means little effect on the suspension which is important.

Looking about $20 per shaft. I might be able to do less for shorter shafts too.

Yes, I have. I have some thoughts and videos that will come later on when I get the time to post them.
