ar44 in different widths One the biggest reasons alot of people dislike ar60s is that the diff is giant, so why not make it smaller. So I had an idea the other day, Why not try taking an ssd ar44 center section and try to 3d print a set of tubes to make it either berg width or ar60 width and offset pumpkin. I've started modeling these tubes for my own experiment. The reason that I'm considering these widths is that I don't want to have to make custom axle shafts. xr width is easy but the pumpkin would have to be centered. Has anyone already tried to make a wider ar44? Is this just a pipe dream? Side note: I know that Dlux is doing something like this but the axles are kind of expensive for unassembled axles. I mean no disrespect Dlux. If my experiment fails I will probably go to the ssD_lux axles. |
Re: ar44 in different widths Lots of people making them in different widths. I just built one for vmgontherocks that has 3/8" aluminum tube in an ssd center with a ssd_lux truss. It uses link mounts and bearing caps from tomfoolery on shapeways but I can't recommend them. Printed tubes are a bad ide too. Short lived, I've already busted mine. |
