Axial is going to offer battery servo mount.(for lipo batt.)
I like the fatrock batt/sevo mount better
We didn't use the TLT Fat Rock bracket for this application. The mount we created supports the 6 cell pack just above the top links. It also brings the bottom of the servo below the plane of the stock servo mount plate, just on top of the axle.

I think this rig is comp ready with only minor shock adjustments and moving the battery off the top shelf.

It's good to finally see one of these things in human hands and not just some press kit photos.

Hi, I'm from europe and new into crawling. Crawling is not so hot (yet) around here . I've got some questions that you experienced guys could answer ?
What kind of brushed motor would you advice me for in the scorpion ? 55T ? And what about pinion, spur.

Brushless outrunners could also be used but seems to be 2 'problems' , the mounting holes are different and the start-up of a brushless (sensorless) motor is quite 'sudden' , so not smooth, what seems very important to me !

What about the ESC, do you really need drag brake or no time delaying reverse ??

For battery I was thinking of using some Konion cells of 1100mAh (3.6V each) that I have laying around , they are quit light, about 45grams each and since only 2 are needed it would be only 90grams. Should the battery be put onto the front axle ?

Hope you can help me, thank you!

I like wheelspeed. I'd go with 45t or less for a brushed motor.

There will be an optional brushless motor mounting plate coming from Axial soon. It depends on the brushless system you choose. You could go with the Novak Crawler System (sensored). There is no cogging at all it is smooth as silk.

Depends on what you plan to do with it. In a competition setting drag brake is a huge plus. Since you won't be competing right away, you could get away without it. But if you plan on purchasing a new esc for this rig, you should get one that has it. The Mamba Max is a great esc that can handle brushed or brushless motors.

You could try those but at 1100 mah I wouldn't expect too much.

On what kind of speeds do I have to think of with such a motor (of course it depends on pinion+spur) ?

Can you also program drag brake with that one ?

I understood that 2/3A 1500mAh cells were also used more often because of weight and size reasons ?

It is an entirely new mount similar to the Fatrock that will bolt up directly to the axles.

Well you guys have seen the R&D area, now how about a couple of warehouse shots.

This is the new product receiving area:

The order desk:

Some of the inventory:

As you can see it's getting pretty crowded in there. We have only been in this building for about 3 months now and we have allready outgrown it. We will be moving again very soon. Hopefully before those hundreds of AX10's get here, we don't have anywhere to put them.

Yeah you're not kidding, over $1 per square foot for places you might not want to be after dark.

Sweet warehouse shots. It's nice to see the RCP dungeon! Course with those hot texas summers, the cinderblock walls probably insulate pretty well. That warehouse needs more TLT R+Ps... hehehe. Anywho, the AX10 stuff looks great. Just hope the entire hobby doesn't go that way.
