Here are 2 lower links ready to be assembled. They come with large set screws that you thread into the rod ends, then screw the rod end into the link. They got together real slick.

The uppers go together exactly the same way, but one end of each goes into the nifty 3 link rod end.

How do we stay up all night to bring you this great info you ask?

Plenty of fig newtons and mountain dew, that's how.

Driveshafts go together next. Oh yeah, just like the Aluminum wheels hexes you also get plastic and metal driveshaft yokes. What does that other place charge for the metal driveshaft yokes we've all been using?

They pop in just like any of the shafts we all use.

Next up is the shocks. I won't bore you all with the details on how to put them together, you've all done it.

Note that the shock come with Titanium Nitride Coated Shafts, those are about $8.00 a pair elsewhere.

The springs seem a little stiff but we haven't put them on the rig yet, so time will tell. Axial offers 5 total spring rate options and all the rest are lighter than these.

Those offset rod ends look very much like Kyosho Inferno 777 ST-R steering rod ends. (As illustrated in RC Driver September 2006 issue 33, pages 128-134, and referenced to on page 132 top right, under and right of Tech Tip, untweak your chassis).

Oh yeah, great job! I know what my next build is going to be. mmmmmmm. Bearings and Aluminum included for under $350. Must.....have.....ccan't....tell.....wife....

Getting closer...

Take the axle assemblies that you have built, along with the links, and shocks, and put them all together.

Slide the screw through the tab on the axle, then through the link, followed by a washer, then the shock and finally the other tab. Secure it all with a locking nut.

Once thats done, hold the upper link into place and attach it with a single screw through the bracket on the axle.

Pop the bearings in. Along with the gears and shafts. The top gear is metal the rest are plastic. All bearings though.

The center drive is locked by screwing the 2 outdrives onto the center gear of the tranny.

Pop the bearings onto it and drop it into the tranny.

Slide the GREEN spacers on and attach the motor plate. Note that Axial also offers another motor plate that allows small outrunner to bolt right up.

The finished tranny.
