Default Harley's AX-10 Thread - Got CAD?

Well I recieved my AX-10 yesterday (Thanks TCS), the only thing I did last night was take a few parts out and check their quality. I did notice the odor from the tires so I took them out of the box and set them outside.
Today over lunch I started into the project. I of course had to start with the axles. This only took about an hour and a half, which I feel is really good. It will take quite awhile longer to get a finished product but this is a really good start and has enough detail to give me a sense of accomplishment for my time.

Sorry for the plane in the middle of the picture, didn't notice it until I uploaded the picture

Tonight I will finish this up and do the transmission.
More to come!

Come on now, cut a guy some slack! It will get there but i need the general shape first, A$$

I am very impressed with the parts so far. I really think Axials did a fantastic job, and the fact that they are also offering axle and trans kits is awesome!

Something I did notice was that the holes where the servo mounts go all the way into the case. Kind of sucks for when we shave the axles, but not a huge deal.

The plane through the center and not having the center hollowed out is just simply unacceptable! I could do that with Paint.

Uh, yeah right...kidding of course...my Solidworks looks preschool compared to your work

Did anything besides the tires smell bad? Everything Ive got smells like the tires, from the box it came in, to the body, to the directions, it all wreaks. Smells so bad I put the tires in big ziplock bags and set the entire kit outside. The whole house stinks now.

Maybe a silly question but what is your reasoning for doing this CAD work?

Yeah everything stunk, even the manual like you said. I don't think it made my apartment stink that bad though, I can't really smell it now.

I just went and checked them out again. The tires dont smell too bad, its the foams that really stink.

knuckle is done. i will do the transmission tomorrow.

P.S. my tires are soaking in the tub to try and get rid of the smell. I poured a bunch of Dawn dish soap in there too.

What do you have in the works for this Harley? Ie: what parts are you going to make or improve?

I loved the smell of the tires. I had some moabs that I wanted to use instead of the rock lizards so they are sitting in the box still.

Very nice work. Planning on making some aluminum axles to match the links?
