Default The Scorpion - with bling.

Ok, the subject is just silly. I'm going to give a brief rundown of the gear used, and link to the pictures, let the descriptions under the pictures do a lot of the talking.

5645MG steering servo
Quark33 ESC
JRH Scorpion 3014
Stock gearing
6V receiver pack
DX7 radio
Erickson Beadlocks
3S 2100MAH LiPo

A few comments on performance before I link to the pictures:

Awsome. Seriously, you have to almost lay this thing over on it's side to get it to roll. The ESC&motor combo will push this thing up anything you can get a tire/traction on, stop it and hold it there, then start back up climbing again. There's a little more torque twist than I'm happy with ATM, but then, I've run less than one pack through it at this point, and I am certainly still tuning.

Pictures - a lot of the story is in the comments below the pictures.

I was waiting for the "bling" too . (Man, I was expecting like a full on Jeweled custom rims, lights, everything!)

Why do you guys run a receiver pack? With 4000+++MAH of run time is it really nessary to run a receiver pack these days?

Just curious. 6volt output should be there with or without receiver pack right?

Looks great.... I just have a question, attribute them to me being new in the crawler scene.

First, what is the purpose of having 2 batteries (Lipo and a Reciever pack). Doesn't the ESC put enough power to the Rx to power the servo?

I'm assuming the 2 switches are due to the 2 batteries (One for the Rx and one for the ESC)

Works great. I haven't had any problems yet. My biggest concern is how vulnerable the pack may be to damage in that location - I think it's covered pretty well, but there's still a chance it could take a hit in a tumble that would leave everyone in the area ducking and covering.

Weight bias is, in this instance, end to end balance - which is to say, the front is slightly heavier than the rear.

The lipo strapped on there is a 2100. The receiver pack has nothing to do with the runtime - it's about the voltage. Generally speaking, you can get more voltage/amperage to the servos using a receiver pack than you can from the BEC circuits on 95% of the ESC's out there.

No problems yet, but then I haven't even run a full pack through it. Still shaking it down and working the bugs out (stripped servo horn, etc).

Coming soon. At the very least, I'm certain there will be some pictures taken of this rig at Green River on Sept. 22nd.

Action shots - Sorry about the fuzzy quality in some places, the light was only so good at 6:30 am, and I was driving and shooting - plus the batteries in the camera were about toast.
