Default Need Some Advice

Hi guy, Iam just about to order my Ax-10 and before I do I need some advice. Does the kit come with a pinion gear and if not, what tooth size would be good for just general crawling( I know its 48 pitch)? Also which would be better to get a 55 turn or 65 turn motor? And what weight oil should I be putting in the shocks?

It comes with a pinion gear 13t (yeah what Freetimecrawler said) I think and shock oil...Its up to you on what motor to run; I run the 45t but its personal preference, with the mamba max I can adjust the timing to give me more torque or wheel spin...What ever motor you go with you will be happy with the AX10...

Welcome to RCC!!
The AX10 comes with a 14t pinion, it also comes with 30wt shock oil. A 55t is a good choice for a crawler. A 65 would work, but might be a little slow on wheel speed.

But wouldnt a 15t or 16t compenstate for the higher turns? Im also going to run a Novak XRS ESC, JR 650M servo and airtronics m11 with spektrum pro.

Yes it would but you would be losing some of that torque that you would gain by going up to a pinion of that size.

I tried a 65t and seem to be too slow for my liking, 55t from my experience seems to be the best bet.

I would recommend 12t pinion 87t spur with a 55t motor. I ran this on my first crawlers and it worked great...

Hey there. Man, if you have a M11, then you could run whatever motor probably (unless you are really going to compete). All I had to put in my 2 Scorpions was a Novak SS 5800 in one, and a LRP Sphere & Velociti 7.5 in the other. But I put the 14 pinion on and turned the EPA down on forward & reverse & they work great. The SS 5800 isn't as smooth off idle as the Sphere, but I just used my sons Exponential to take care of that. We can get one or more tires so caught up in the rocks that it sounds like it is going to pop lugs off of the tires when it breaks loose! Brushless is awesome. I have sold ALL of my nitro stuff in the past year or so.

Welcome to the board, I am just south of you in Penticton, BC. I finished building my AX-10 a week ago, I'm just using a 55T and everything from the box. The 30w seems to work fine and stock pinion about right. If this is your first crawler you will love it, right form the box it works great.

Yeah seem to be a pretty good vendor.
However I would also go with the mamba max too.
Plus if you every want to go brushless with it all you have to do is change your settings, good luck!

Default dig

its an option to use your third chanel to disengage your front or rear driveshaft.usually its the rear, but some use it on the front.it allows you to turn going down hill without pushing the rig forward with the rear wheels.
