Another ten minute mod to the Axial. ![]() I moved the plastic upper cross brace down to the upper links mounting bolt. And moved the green spacers up to the upper shock mounting bolt. I then drilled three holes in a piece of plastic using the original aluminum plate as a template. Kinda countersunk the middle hole and reused their screw. ![]() Added a Velcro patch. ![]() Mounted the electronics like so. ![]() They sit lower for sure. ![]() And there ya go. ![]() ![]() Last edited by EeePee; 09-17-2007 at 10:27 PM. |

Very Nice... As soon as I get around to getting a new batt set up, I'll probably do something like that... (I have to run the stick battery uptop for now... Front sits to low now.)

Very nice! Like to keep it clean. Unfortunately my Mamba Max and Traxxas receiver are alot larger than your setup...wouldn't fit. I guess I could make my lower shelf larger. Might interfere with the upper links though. It would need additional engineering for my setup. Super sweet with yours! |

I guess you could do build same thing in the back! That would give you two shelves, one for a speed controller, one for receiver! I may have to go that route anyway. The novak brushless motors are longer than the motor EeePee has. There'll be less room for a shelf at the front. RPS52 |

Very clever, if I weren't going to build a tuber out of it I would do this exactly, very nice!

| ![]() Hey thanks. Thanks. Had a moment of clarity, (or a drunken idea?) when I was staring at the truck not content with where the electronics were mounted. Thanks also. Quote:
And they sit low enough that you could make a plate that attaches to where the servo plate attaches, and extend it from tire to tire and it looks like it could hold a reciever and ESC. You could literally mount everything on the front axle... Hmmmm... Cool man! I never cranked on it before, but there's a little flex, but nothing I'd worry about. I really doubt the one screw holding the top plate per side really added much in the way of rigidity anyways. In the name of less weight up high, I'll take my little tray over their big piece of aluminum mounted as high as possible. Thanks! Quote:
You most certainly could. Thanks dude. I try. ![]() I think that covers everyone. Thanks again all y' alls. ![]()

![]() Hey Richard. I went all out on this one. And went with a body I've never seen anyone ever use before. I got the Scorpion from Kevin @ TCS, so I'm sportin' the stickers. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hey guys, I've gotten some PMs about the batteries and figured I might as well show some pictures and type a little bit about them. ![]() I bought this pack, made for a Losi Mini-T from www.cheapbatterypacks.com, and did the upgrade. Bottom of this page: http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/mai...rer=3&model=20 ![]() I unsoldered the middle battery bar. ![]() Little wire job, then placed them, and zip tied them through the link and shock mount. ![]() You can see the zip tie go through the link and shock mount... ![]() Little touch from the knuckle stuff, hardly anything though. ![]() Pretty easy stuff, and they work great. With the BM9 brushless motor and geared with a 12 tooth pinion on the 6 cells I get a medium walking pace for speed. Runtime is about 45 minutes before any really noticable loss in power. ![]() |
