Tonight I started the running gear assembly. First Traxxas big bore shocks and Internal Shock Spring For Droop Set Up I found a set of chrome metal bid bore shock bodies in the 1/2 off box at my LHS. Thought they would look good on the frame. Starting with light shock oil and will work my way up in weight as needed. Had to start somewhere |

Next was to assemble the axles, links and shocks. I won't go into detail on the assembly. That is done in the tread Live Axial AX-10 build going on now at the top of this section. Also asssembled the transmission. I will say that the shocks mounted with the body down is snug. There is no ball for this style of shock in the top cap. I used a piece of medium size fuel tubing in the mounting hole to allow some flex. Seem to work fine. Decided to mount the upper links to the bottom of the RCP Ax10/TLT Aluminum Servo Plates. Will see when I mock up the suspension how they work. Did not use the 'Y' connector. There are extra ball links in the kit that work on each link end. There is no hardware supplied with the plates. Mounted the RCP AX10 black anodized straight axle adaptors on the rear. There is some end play between the dog bone and axle. I used a HPI #6819 o-ring in each cup and they got rid of the play. I like the adaptors. The front was done the same with the Servo Plate. Installing the RCP Crawlers AX10 2 Postion Clockable Axle C and RCP Crawlers AX10 Max Clearance Knuckle was easy. Just like the stock. Looks like there will be more steerting with the new Knuckles. Mounted a Hitec 645MG servo with an Ofna servo arm to make it steer. More tomorrow |

Man talk about a cool give-a-way win! I found I like my link mounts below the plate on the RCP both front and rear. |

Tonight I finished the battery perches on the front axles. Used 7/32" hollow square tube and 0.125" thick kydex. Counter sunk the Kydex to accept flat head 3m screws.
