| Tubero Numero Dos... Guijerro
Well here is my second attempt at building a tuber using the AX10 axles and running gear. This one is much more planned out than the first one I built. The first one was built as I went with no real plan in mind. With this one I drew out a 1:1 scale blueprint using my technical drawing training. It came out exactly as the blueprint was drawn. There is still a lot of work to be done but people have been bugging me to see this one so far. Here's the pics.... And here is one for size reference taken with the tuber in front of a standard Pede body... The tuber measures 8.15" long x 3" wide x 3.85" tall. I purpose built it to be as small as possible while remaining comp legal with a little to spare. I actually had to trim the motor plate on the Axial tranny to squeeze it in there perfectly. Its very small, thus the name Guijerro... |

Well I found some more time to work on the tuber tonight. Got it all the way to roller status. Should have it ready to go as a runner tomorrow or saturday. Here are the pics... I need to limit the artic a little bit. Slightly more than I like to run. I need some more hardware from the LHS in the morning. It looks like a baby super. I love this thing. I hope it wheels as good as it looks... Questions and comments welcome. |

looks like you need to get that chassis in the air a bit more! i ran my truck with link paralel and it stayed like that for a one run in the local comp then i switched it up, and was very happy with getting over a 3 inch lip that i couldnt with my parallel setup

Rig has 2.5" of ground clearance as it sits in those pics. Thats more than enough for me. Ive been running my rig at 2.5" for a while now including for a comp. Lots of people will agree 2.5" is fine on a droop setup...

...The Imexs seem to be good. I havent really used them except for maybe 20 minutes just bashin around and only on the rears. I'll be using them at a GTG Sunday and after that I'll have a much better idea of what they'll do. | |

looks pretty good, cant wait to see it cleaned up. how did you set up the droop? internal springs or something more... and 2.5 is plenty of center clearance, i think i am actually running 2 3/8 clearance |

| Thanks Keith. Im gonna run some internals to start and see how that handles. Call me crazy but im also thinking about testing some HPI rally shocks on the rig. Nice and short articulation in a compact shock. I'll know more about what direction Im gonna take it after the GSRCRC GTG Sunday. You should see this rig at either the GS or SV comp in the next few weeks...
