Yeah, I'm gonna need to see a few more like this. I'm pretty sure you might be my new hero. I've never wanted a crawler so bad in my life.

I got to take it on the rocks today. Actually, it was dark by the time I got out there. I works pretty well. I need to make a couple adjustments, but it was for the most part much better than the old linkage set-up. I tried to dial in as much squat as possible. I believe that the last thing you want in a full droop rig is the axle trying to crawl under its self. I'm having some issues with the chassis twisting to the left under load. I call it droop torque twist. Any suggestions for combating that? My wife took the camera on a trip. You'll have to wait patiently for a more interesting background. |

| I don't have a droop rig put together yet(my gopher is naked) but I have always wondered if something along the lines of having an elastic or shock-cord running from the shock mounting point on the chassis to the axle would be useful. One on each corner for each shock. Basically doing the same job as an internal spring... but on the outside... and tension/resistance/whatever could be easily adjusted rather than tearing apart a shock to change the spring.

I also have a Gopher and was wondering if yours was threaded 6-32 for the shock mounts (I think they all are!). What did you do for the shock mounts?

Nice rig by the way kawika. I finally got mine put together thanks to your advice. Now I've got to mess around with link lengths (only getting about 1.75" clearance at full compression). Always something! Chris

Ok, not sure what your doing with fuel line tubing. The holes in the chassis is threaded 6-32 which is larger then the standard 4mm shock mounting so are you using the fuel line like a helicoil? If thats so that makes me wonder if i can get a 4mm helicoil?

The fuel tubing will give enough flex for the shock to move, but not slip anywhere.
