softer springs Has anyone tried the softer springs? |
softer springs i have not tried them yet ,but i pulled the lower spring perches out just to see what it would be like with softer springs .with the so called stage 3 mods they only use soft hpi\axial springs in the front.well im sold i ordered 2 sets of soft and 1 set of med .im going with softer in front and rear.the supplied superfirm are just over kill .imo |
i'm running the hpi yellows up front and love it the axial reds are close but if your going to change the rear i'd try the whites they are softer but still stiff enough to not flop arun |
did yo try med in the rear? Is the front soft or super soft? |
You guys really trying to use softer springs than the stock ones? Why? The stock ones are way to soft as it is. |
the stock ones are firm and bouncy feeling im gonna pick up a set of soft and mediums to play around with |
the super soft for the front but what do you recomed for the rear? |
i run losi whites up front 80wt oil stock rear with 30/35wt and love it flexes great and has nice control |
30wt all around in mine. I put the outer rubber bump stop spacer under the piston inside the shock. Front Springs: Losi Yellows Rear Springs: Duratrax Evader ST Yellow Rears (barely stiffer than the Losi Yellows, but a tad longer) |
I shortened my stock axial shocks and put wheely king springs on it, they seem to be working great for me. |

im ordering run full soft I see wat I like. I will report. |
For those of you using the losi springs, are you adding spacers to account for the difference in height from stock? When mine is sitting still, everything looks great and lines up nicely. If you lift the truck and the shocks extend, the springs are loose and sloppy because they're not long enough. I do have the bump stop on the inside of the shock body. Ideas? |

Run TMAXX lower spring cups, they hold the Losi springs tighter at the bottom so they don't flop around when the spring isn't loaded with weight. |

Excellent advise from both of you. I started with 2.25" belly clearance. I added a single spacer on each shock with an additional small spacer in the left rear for anti-torque-twist. This brought me up to 2.5" belly clearance and significantly less slopiness at full shock extension. I'll pick up some t-maxx lower spring cups also. Thank you! |

RPM spring cups are taller than the stock Axials so that can help with the spring tension adjustment without needing to use spring spacers up top. http://www.rpmrcproducts.com/product...xxPts.htm#cups Lower Spring Cups Lower Spring Cups - fit most Traxxas shocksOur spring cups hold the base of the shock spring in place better than the stock parts and, because of our killer material, also tend to stay cleaner. In addition, coupled with the above mentioned spring clips, anyone can add a whole new dimension of color to their T-Maxx or E-Maxx! Nothing looks better than a complete suspension set-up dressed up with RPM team colors! RPM spring cups are available in Bold Black, Blue, Yellow, or Purple! i put LOSI green's on the front and the stock super firm on the back and she does evey trick i tell er to...... |
Does anyone have any input yet with the softer axial springs yet or will I just have to pick up a set of the reds and see for myself? I'm not sure if I'm wanting super soft (red) or if medium (green) would do. I was hoping to hear some feedback first. As it's sitting, the stock springs (super firm/blue), even without oil in my shocks...are way too stiff for my liking. I've tried some uncut HPI springs (too long), and I honestly don't really like how they sit (They're .4 mm wider in diameter and 24?mm longer). |
I run the softs (white) in the front and the stockj blues in the rear works great"thumbsup" rears still a lil stiff for my liking |
