Default new tuber in the works

I traded my son a tamiya ta-05 for his Axial Scorpion what a great trade. He is not into the whole crawler thing so I decided I would take it off his hands and build it up...

All i can say for now is it's a fathead tuber with a fatdog skid courtesy of k9-popo. It's good to have friends in low places...

this fatdog tuber is going on the shelf....

Well it's not much to start with but I took some pics of my new tuber to be finished here in about a week. So without further delay here you go

the famous beak front end of the fatdog tubers

notice the 3mm nuts soldered for easy panel application and removal

classic tuber looks...

I think this is the best tuber I have built to date.. very square and straight...

this is what it will look like prior to panels being installed

going for a 12-1/2 w/b but will probably end up with 12-1/4
the guts will be a Mamba max brushed or brushless yet to be decided...
a hitec 5995 servo and of course losi rock claws

Default FatDog Tubers....Killer

Got my fatdog on order and let me tell you guys, i cant wait! I like the build going on, nice. i have a set of ax-10 axles just chillin' ready to go on my tuber when it arrives. By the time i get all the parts i need and get it together you guys should have yours pretty much dialed in. i may need a little guidance as far as set up and link size goes. Keep on posting progress.

Wow, doing the links was not as hard as I thought it was going to be.. I even get to keep my top Axial linkmounts and links.

specs.....
12-1/2" wheelbase
2-7/16" ground clearance
Losi shocks front and rear
Red springs in front / droop in the rear (we'll test it out)
Axial Chrome wheels/Losi Rock Claws
still not sure on a motor to run just yet..

In this picture you'll see that I extended the links by about 3/8" over the stock length. this allowed me to use the upper link mounting position on the tube chassis

this is just a shot of the front suspension mounts on the tuber and how well it is centerd with the links...

a pick of the rear shock mounts.

a pick of the front servo cover for those hard rollovers that do accure.

another pic of how I extended the links..

and a full body shot (looks good to me)

NO NOT YET i'M NOT A BIG FAN OF THE DROOP suspension, I didn't have any shorter shock's and springs on hand so it will most likely change to a regular suspension when I get a chance to get to Bobs'.

Lookin good. Looks very similar to the one you just got rid of.

I really like how the body panels mount. Not completely diggin how the side panels extend up to the front. But that is only my opinion.

Looks Awsome! What till you see your old one!

the side panels only extend up to keep all the wires hidden for appearance only. I'm looking forward to seeing my old one's finished, so hurry up...
