Well it is time for me to start another build. As tradition I will start the build off with some renderings.

Parts list:
  • The Crawler Store Gopher Tube Chassis
  • Axial Axles
  • Axial Transmission
  • TCS 4-link Servo Mount (Front)
  • TCS 4-link Boomerang (Rear)
  • Yeah Racing 80mm Shocks
  • Tower Pro 945mg Servo
  • Dinky RC Custom Links
  • Dinky RC Modified 1.9 Masher 2k
  • 27 turn motor (temp)
  • HPI Speed control (temp)
  • Custom Body Panels with Laser etched artwork (pending)
This rig is going to be my little bash around rig. It will be 100% waterproof and will have a good amount of speed. The fabrication on this has been handed of to Muddauber7 of Dinky RC.

I dropped off all the materials tonight to the Dinky RC Shop. We set the wheelbase at 10.5 inches and worked out a few details and I left it in Matt's capable hands.

I snapped a few pics of the early stages and will get them posted soon. The rig is planned to be a runner by Monday or Tuesday.

Hey if it helps MTHead built a gopher and his links where 3.8 fronts and 4.8 rears. I did that and it worked out pretty good

My guess is because it is going to be a basher and not a comp rig. I got one and and it's going to be 10.5 too for those reasons.

I think it's what the title says Harley's Dinky PeeWee Gopher

The Pee Wee part.

Yes that is correct, and it will ride on 1.9 cut and shut Masher 2k's.

Looks great Josh, you will love it. I ran mine for a few hours yesterday and thats all I want to do now

cembom 12-02-2007 04:29 PM

Your renderings are so cool. They made me want a Gopher lol. The other one was on Wheelyking axles right?

Yep WK axles, heres the build thread (about 14 pages ), I started this build before we started producing the Gopher chassis for TCS:

This rig will probably get the same skid plate mod that I just did to the WK Gopher.

ha freaking ha

Pissat - Passat you clever bastard.

What Dez forgot to mention is that he rolls a red VW Beetle! I know it was his because it had a Rose and a TLT axle shaft in the flower vase that is built into the dash.

I need to pic my electronics now, I am thinking a cheap LRP AI Runner for the speedo because it is water proof. The reverse delay blows but oh well, but I still can't decide on a motor :?

balang_479 12-03-2007 01:12 PM

why the small shocks? will you get enough articulation out of those..

Absolutely.

With a short wheelbase and 1.9 tires you don't want very much articulation. There would really be no need for any more the 2" of articulation. With 80mm shocks, even running them completely vertical I still may need to limit them. In addition the link setup is a 40/60 split, so I should have a good amount of control and predictability.

Articulation is over-rated 8)

Pffffft, it was a Hi Lift axle shaft!

Rookie!:flipoff:

But you have inspired me to build a 1.9 comp rig!"thumbsup"
