My 08 Comp Rig Thanks to Axial, I feel that we now have the absolute best platform to start a 2.2 comp crawler. If you've been doing this rc crawling thing as long as I have, among other old timers around here, you can appreciate what Axial has done for us as a sport and hobby. Here is the first shot of my bone stock AX10 with the latest release from Proline, The ROCKSTAR body. You can see the full press release on the home page, here at RCC. I have recently made mods to the link set ups and arrangements, as well as the Axial battery mounts, etc. It really crawled well with very minor adjustments. I have just begun a chassis swap with a Bender SW3 and it will also receive an R2D tranny, along with tons of other competiton must haves. I'll post up the progress as I get a little further. You'll also be able to follow along with it's build progress and points standings as it competes in the Colorado Winter points series at off-road.com / DirtSports Magazine in the very near future. http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/2...7354zs5cc2.jpg |
Love that body! Should give the grappler a run for its money 8) |
Diggin' the ROCKSTAR... was hoping for an accidental sneak peak of the next big 2.2 tire though... ;-) |

:flipoff: Looks good and I like the body. "thumbsup" |
Yeah Dirk, that body is the best looking crawler body to date. Makes the Grappler look really dated. Hey Dirk, since I know you won't read PM's...remember the XTM forums and better yet can you help me with some contract info for Pro-Line since you seem to be connected to them. I've having a major issue with some tires/wheels and I need a connection to someone who can try to help/fix the problem. |
Have to agree. Bearings, lockers, and nice solid parts right out of the box. Super easy to assemble and dissasemble. The axles bolted right up to a J2 without any changes in the build doc."thumbsup" |

Hmmm...... six to eight weeks, huh? New tires may be out in time for somebody's birthday.....:) |
Looks like ASS, like it's owner!:flipoff: |
That is revolutionary. You are the first to do anything like this. Wow. How did you make those links? Did you make that chassis? How did you narrow the rims? Are those tires any good? Goooo Proline! |
Tested the hell out of the rig completely stock and then did the typical mods, such as moving the links in board of the chassis by notching the skid plate. MOved the shocks to the outter most mounting point on the axle. Got the batteries up on the front axle with the Axial battery/servo mounting plate. Softer Axial springs. Also made longer upper links for the Y mount. All these little mods made the Scorpion crawl way better and is certainly comp worthy in that form. However, a Bender SW3 was in order! http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/7181/dsc07499et6.jpg http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/663/dsc07501ol7.jpg http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/3820/dsc07503cu0.jpg http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/4588/dsc07507vw0.jpg |
