I notice you tried a couple different things with cross member. Eventually you used the stock tube with some spacers to cover where the shocks were supposed to go?

Also did I miss what shocks you are using, the stock AX-10 ones are just way too tall I have to push it down to the bumpstop to get it where I "want it" to be normally.

Mike is using stock Tamiya High Lift shocks.

There are tons of shock options to go with, one of my favorite is Nluvwithxlr8ing's Mini-Inferno shocks. Plenty of ways to go just have to find your desired ride height and then find what shocks will fit that.

yes, I used a different front cross member in order to mount the servo to the frame. I used a stock tube, if you will it that, and I used spacers from a TLT kit. However, I am sure you could make it work with something from the axial kit itself as there some extras left over.

As far as the shocks go, they are high lifts, I used them because I wanted a lil bit scaler of a look. You can still use the AX10 shocks, however I would imagine you would need to do a droop set up so that it doesnt sit very high. When I am employed again, I plan on swapping out the high lifts for some RC4WD shocks with boots http://rc4wdstore.com/product_info.p...roducts_id=737

Well, I wanted to get this thing running, this way after the electronics are placed and I know where everything is I could start the interior.

1st order of business was figuring out a good spot for the battery tray

I started looking at it, and the frame, and new I wanted it up front, but also hidden. I couldnt really center it down the middle of the frame because the steering servo is there and I didnt want the weight offset to one side. I am terrible at making brackets with bends and stuff, so I got a simple idea and ran with it...

It just barely didnt line up, so I drilled the openings a little bit larger in the servo posts, and drilled out the battery tray to accept the 3mm screws

End result was perfect, installed some industrial strength velcro and was good to go

Using some more stock TLT parts (this is a prime example of why it was always better to buy the kit rather then just axles "thumbsup") I made an electronics tray for my ESC and receiver.

I then started on the steering linkage, I found a link that was tap for 3/32 or something and re-threaded it to 3mm. Got it all bolted up

At this stage of the game, this is my 2nd most fun and realistic truck to wheel (clone is 1st). The truck flexes well, even with the high lift shocks, and the weight balance is really good considering the topper and the heavy spare on the back. I took a couple of vids, you be the judge

Thanks Jay, I am really really happy with the truck so far. It went together nice and simple, frame is super scale (reminds me of a Bruiser), and truck performs well.

That thing looks completly awesome I love the steering set up. Your lucky you get to go out and crawl the thing, Im only a couple of hours north and Ive had snow since christmas so its either going in circles in the basement or snowbank crawling :roll:... love the truck though keep up the good work "thumbsup"

I have had a lot of scale chassis over the years, tube chassis, ladder frames, all kinds. This one so far, is my favorite 2nd to a Bruiser frame. Its cheap, very scale, comes anodized black, very very adjustable, doesnt have horrible drive shafts angles and leaves the builder with a lot of room to personalize it over all.

Yeah thats the scale course, its coming along well its just covered in a lot of leaves at the moment, got to hit with the back pack leaf blower :twisted: We are right in the middle of working on a rickety swing bridge, kinda like the one at the MJ, should be really cool.

Haha same here on the course. I got sick of ours and the neighbors didnt get it like they said so I figured they didnt want it. I pulled it up my self, now I got tons of room. Thanks Larson for helping me give props lol. Now I can watch the vids, YAY.
